Hail, The (New) Chief...

Let's hope that Barack Hussein Obama, America's 44th President will demonstrate that he is THE leader of the free world, and a man of his word.

"....Know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with the sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

We are the keepers of this legacy. Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats that demand even greater effort--even greater cooperation and understanding between nations. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people, and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat, and roll back the specter of a warming planet.

Let's hope that Anwar Ibrahim's attainment of the prime ministership in Malaysia will herald a similar change and hope amongst all Malaysians too!

Personally i think his foreign policy will change, but not entirely as we hope for. America is still Israel best friend. But hopefully the situation in Iraq,Afghanistan etc will improve.

Just read this.

Too painful, especially when I think of what the mother of this young man must be feeling and what she said in the videoclip.

Please highlight this Malaysian atrocity. Thanks.

Why do we not demand the same inclusiveness from our own PM and UMNO?

Did he ever claim the free world's leadership, or is he simple taken for granted and assumed to be the de-facto leader?

He may create more than a dent but this troubled world will not change. USA will never again be what it used to be. The sun has set, like it did for the British Empire.

Say, do and deliver. And only in that order.

When you say something, do it and deliver the products.

This is still the 'say' stage.

The mandate is only complete upon delivery.

But in America, their leaders seldom harp on the past wrongdoings, unlike here where every finger points to the past, like crying over spilt curry.

Lets all wake up and think of what needs to be done tomorrow, not yesterday.
