That Motion For A Vote Of No-Confidence........

UPDATE:

The Barisan Nasional Supreme Council will hold an emergency meeting at 2.30pm to discuss Sabah Progressive Party’s (SAPP) no-confidence motion on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The party had yet to decide if one of its own Members of Parliament would table the motion in the next sitting of Parliament on Monday, or whether the motion would be tabled by an MP from another party.

The Barisan Supreme Council emergency meeting would take place at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur at 2.30pm Thursday, Barisan secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said.

My original posting:

Is this just another sandiwara or will it really happen?

I have my doubts that we will see this going through the Dewan Rakyat. If I were a gambler, I'd take a bet.

If Sabah Progressive Party(SAPP) can really pull through this one -- tabling a motion for a vote of no-confidence against the Prime Minister, then, it will be unprecedented.

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee said his party has lost confidence in Pak Lah's leadership and that his party's two MPs (Sepanggar and Tawau) will support a motion for a vote of no-confidence against the PM in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday.

But whoever is planning to table the motion must (under the Standing Orders) submit the notice to the Dewan Rakyat by today, at the latest, according to Dewan Rakyat Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia.

As of yesterday, he has not received any notice from any party with regard to the matter. And if the Speaker receives the notice, he would have to look at it first before deciding to accept it.

Will all this hoop-la fizzle out over the weekend, or gain momentum?
Perhaps, for Yong and the SAPP, it is a case of a desperate situation that demands a drastic measure.

Maybe, I'm too much of a skeptic (or a realist?).
But, if I am wrong about it, I'll go have my hair trimmed!

Now...say by a twist or quirk of fate, as it were....the Speaker allows the motion to be tabled. Will it get enough votes? What are the implications of it not getting those votes?

I believe that Pak Lah should be "dealt with" by his own party. But I know what you're thinking. Umno is toothless, spineless and just too weak to do anything about its leadership crisis.

Well, I think the real Umno has not shown itself up. Besides, unless the structure is changed, the PM of the country is the Umno president.

Oh, well, we will see. We will see what happens on Monday. If anything will happen at all.

And while we're on the subject -- will SAPP get the boot (from BN) for acting out of line?

Anyway, the PM seems to suggest that he has something on Yong. Here's his response:

PUTRAJAYA, June 18 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi says Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President Datuk Yong Teck Lee's latest action has been due to the fact that "I have not been able to satisfy his personal greed."

Abdullah did not elaborate. However, his aides told Bernama that the prime minister would elaborate at a later date.

Alahai Kak Nuraina!

Apa pula besar sangat yang Badawi cakap pasai Yong tu...

Itu kenyataan yang menyangkutkan diri sendiri!

"I have not been able to satisfy his personal greed."

Jadi, sebelum ni, taktik yang Pak Lah guna ialah untuk memuaskan ketamakan orang ke?

Wah wah wah, bagus punyak taktik Pak Lah!

Lagi satu, ini cuma satu tuduhan saja. Sama ada betul atau tidak, Pak Lah, sebagai si penuduh, harus terbitkan bukti. Selagi itu, ianya tuduhan yang tidak berasas.

Paham?

You can bet on one thing. The speaker rejecting the motion so that none will be tabled.

But that is what should not happen if Abdullah Badawi wants to go on another day. The motion should be allowed to be tabled, put to discussion and voted on. Of course it will not be passed. Not now anyway, going by the feedback so far.

But tabling it now will compromise a lot of the UMNO MPs who want Badawi to resign now. How can they vote against this motion and yet say he has to go at the same time? That is the dilemma faced by all the Barisan MPs who so far have said loudly as well as quietly that Badawi should go.

It looks to me like SAPP might just be, for the moment lending a hand to strengthen Badawi's position right now.

Anwway, how I hope the whole BN will just fall and Pakatan takes over. Quite tired of all the sandiwara going on. About time the country gets governed.

It does not matter whether the motion is passed or not. Not for now anyeay.

But, it clearly shows that the whole (BN) Govt, UMNO and coalition are all suffering from indigestion and it not be long before diahoerria will set in.

Of coures, AAB will not do the decent thing since ego & face are more important than the nation or the suffering majority of the People.

Oh, and AAB should of course know all about personal greed and the 'too much is never enough' Philisophy!!

How i wish Pak Lah can just step out of the office and say goodbye to Putrajaya. The point of this whole shenanigans is for Pak Lah to understand that his departure is too long due. BUT.....

BUT we too have to be rational and rationalize this SAPP saga and of their demands that lead to the calling for vote of no confidence against Pak Lah.

Some of us are too naive in taking plainly the whole thing without further deploring our thinking into some of the demands made by SAPP and Yong. And some dont even care to understand what the demands are.

Those demands were of the same given to former PM Tun Mahathir, through other contexts and sheds by Harris Salleh and also Pairin Kitingan, during Tun's era. More royalty, Autonomous political power etc which were brilliantly shut and ended by Tun through not just the aggregation of power to those aligned to Federal govt, but more significantly, through the formation of UMNO Sabah. And through other means of injustice done which i dont prefer to elaborate here. And as a note, Anwar Ibrahim and Tengku Razaleigh were part of the equation too.

We should understand WHY Tun Mahathir did not and care not to entertain those demands; to also know WHY Pak Lah is doing the same.

Its all about hidden and dangerous agenda promoted and game played by both SAPP and Yong Teck Lee. They already had a poll on their website, inviting opinion on whether they should stick to BN or join PR. It looks like everything are much clearer now for everyone to see. They already anticipated the worst and they already set their mind (i guess) on joining the PR.

Irrespective of whether the no confidence motion is tabled, Yong and sapp managed to create history by adding another balck dot on pak lah's record.

From monday onwards BN MPs are already put on guard. I doubt the motion will come from sapp MPs, get ready for some surprises.

mereka ni pemimpin yang tidak bertanggungjawab, cuba mencari jalan singkat untuk menyelesaikan masalah, dengan mengugut. nak lompat, lompat lah, lepas tu ada masalah lagi nanti kalau join pakatan lain, lompat lagi, sampai bila pun tak selesai..nampak macam melarikan diri dari masalah, taknak cuba selesaikan masalah, tunjuk salah pada orang lain.. buang masa melayan orang macam ni..

When Pak Lah says these things below, did he check with thr mirrors on the wall?
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi says Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President Datuk Yong Teck Lee's latest action has been due to the fact that "I have not been able to satisfy his personal greed."

I am sure the mirrors will tell him the same thing. Hasn't he had enough of his personal greed. Is he still not satisfied until he buries UMNO and Barisan Nasional into the ground. Or much worse than that to run the country down. Or he is too busy sleeping and dreaming not noticing the consequences?

Its not time for UMNO leaders and Barisan Nasional Supreme council to play the same old record, the music had changed and the rakyat (voters) are no longer dancing to the old tune.

UMNO and Barisan needed a leadership change and it should happen now not later.

Power to the People.
