SAPP Saga...

The Barisan Nasional supreme council decided yesterday not to take any action against the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) following the stand by its president Yong Teck Lee for a no-confdence vote against Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in Parliament on Monday.

PM Abdullah said this was because the BN believed that Yong had acted on his own and the stand was not the party's. HERE.

Today Yong met with his deputy, Raymond Tan for nearly an hour to thrash things out before they sit at the party's emergency supreme council meeting to decide whether or not the party should leave the coalition. (Update later.)

All's not well in SAPP. Read here.

The argument whether or not action ought to be taken against SAPP or Yong, for that matter, is really academic.

And we all know that the BN will do all it can to prevent the no-confidence move from being tabled in Parliament.

But what no one should dismiss is that such an action (for a no-confidence move) is being constructed at all.

I'm interested to see if the speaker Pandikar Amin as a Sabahan would allow the motion to be voted down or through.

Stranger things have happened.

From your experience as a political journalist, what do you think can be done to remove Pak Lah as our PM?

Unlike Dr. M who'd think seven steps ahead, Pak Lah just never think. He doesn't even anticipate problems or weigh the consequences of his decisions.

I believe he has the special branch and the military intelligence officers at his disposal to go to the ground to gather critical information. But Pak Lah seems ignorant of what is happening on the ground.

It seems, under Pak Lah, we're not moving forward. The corridors he launched are just cosmetics. They're hollow.

We can blog all we want. But how do we, as the rakyat, remove him from office legally?

I think there's no way SAPP will be able to table the vote of no confidence against PM. It is wishful thinking since UMNO is still holding their MPs in tight formation.

Rumor mills has it that 2 dayak based parties are leaving Barisan National and forming a independent entity. The timing was kind of suspicious since this took place at the time when SAPP issued the vote of no confidence. Instead of voicing support for PM, they decided to have a meeting to merge.

I think there is more to all of this than the vote of no confidence. May be there will be third block being considered other than PR and BN.

Settle down pleased.

The integrity of the Malaysian Parliament is at stake and if moved and the Speaker stonewalls it he will make history, next to the stains caused by the roof leaks.

Let's see. History is not only about yesterday. It's about today and tomorrow. We get that right and there'll be less wasted efforts for advancement.

It doesn't make sense. Pak Lah spoke of Yong Tech Lee's "personal greed" and how he could not satisfy that greed and then he decided NO action against the man and his party (or at least the two MPs from the party)?

What is this? Is the NO action to give Pak Lah more time to try and satisfy the personal greed of Yong?

Or is the BN hoping to satisfy the personal greed of others, such as the two SAPP MPs, in the hope that they won't go with the no-confidence vote?

The only right thing to do after exposing Yong's personal greed is to disclose how much that said greed costs, and get rid of Yong and his men.

this is totally about greed..Yong is not performing well as an MP, so this is a good opportunity for him to do such thing as he can put the blame on federal government for the problems that they had in Sabah and at the same time, he might gain something from it..just sack him!!

Kak Aina, remember your last posting about congratulating Tun M about his 2 millionth blog post? I think more people are aware of Tun M's SELECTIVE BLOGGING style:

Doss, a former student activist, said when Dr Mahathir first raised the issue of RapidKL in his blog on June 10, he did not reveal that his son-in-law was involved in MTrans, a company which provided buses to Rapid KL.

"I am glad that he has now admitted to his role in the awarding of a monopoly over the Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya monorail projects to MTrans when his son-in-law was involved with the said company.

"If the shoe was on the other foot, the accusations and allegations would be endless," Doss wrote.
"It is ironic that he uses the words 'my son-in-law so happens to be in the company'. Imagine Dr Mahathir keeping quiet and accepting an explanation like this from Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi."

Doss accused Dr Mahathir of "again being selective in his latest posting in what he reveals and highlights".

Whether the motion being tabled or otherwise is academic. The fact is there's dissent among the Barisan ranks. A minor party notwithstanding. This could encourage others to do likewise. In the end, UMNO will be held hostage by it's honchos stupidity and weaknesses. What if the MCA, Gerakan or MIC start making demands and threats of tabling motions?

And the sad thing is, the sleeping fella is still in the bedroom. Duh.

@ Jane Smith. The sad thing is, there's not much we can do. The sleeping fella's goons(for all that hatred generated, he's just a sleeping figurehead. It's those peeps behind the scenes that we should be afraid of) had put all the necessary safeguard against him being toppled. Look at how the media attacked Tun Dr Mahathir then and Yong Teck Lee now. And these peeps were one of them. And the Tun is no ordinary man. So what chance the ordinary men and women have against the establishment. PRU13? Well, they still got the police, army and postal votes. Maybe a few phantoms here and there.
