The Longest Two Years......

...I imagine for a lot of people who are hoping that Umno president and Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will step down by the end of the year.

Pak Lah announced yesterday that he will be stepping down in June 2010 after which he will hand over power to his chosen successor, (deputy Umno president and DPM) Najib Abdul Razak.

And for those who had convinced Pak Lah to stay on (for reasons known to them or for very obvious reasons): well, there's enough time to do...whatever.

So much for all those speculations that there'd be contests for the top two Umno posts, that there'd be changes in the party leadership...

Pak Lah said that the next two years would give him enough time to help rejuvenate and strengthen the party.

NST online has the story HERE.

But you may want to read what former Umno veteran Sanusi Junid has to say about Pak Lah's decision to hold on to the party presidency and country's premiership. Read it HERE!

What the PM is doing, and its consequences, by rules or convention, does at the very minimum has the effect of stabilizing UMNO. I see this as a good thing in the recent news-reporting. Let's stop with the speculation and see if the reforms the PM wants indeed get pushed through with more vigour.

In spite of the dissapointment of many, this timeline does give some focus though whether the next PM will be the current DPM is still open.
If democracy is practised and the top posts at UMNO is allowed to be contested for, then maybe a true and maybe faultless leader may emerge in the meantime, who may help steer the nation to greater heights, cause at the end of the day, leaders come and go but the nation remains and needs to progress wholesome-ly always.

Visa plan for 'risky' visitors.
One of the risks posed is the possession of bogus passports
The government has warned 11 countries that their citizens will need visas to visit the UK unless they "significantly reduce" the risk they pose.

Listed are Brazil, Namibia, South Africa, Malaysia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Botswana, Lesotho, Mauritius, Swaziland, and Trinidad and Tobago.

A Home Office report identifies bogus passports, criminal acts and terrorism as possible risks posed by visitors.

It says the new visa requirements could become law by early 2009.

The new countries on the visa list have a combined population of more than 300 million - nearly 5% of the world's population.

We need to decide how to widen the visa net. We cannot and will not shy away from going wider

Liam Byrne, immigration minister

If visas are imposed on them, 80% of the world's population will be subject to visa entry requirements in order to visit the UK.

Because Britain is a member of the EU, citizens of European countries do not need visas to visit the UK.

Border and Immigration Minister Liam Byrne said: "We need to decide how to widen the visa net.

"We cannot and will not shy away from going wider and will, whenever we think there is a risk to the UK."

'Evidence of change'

He said the government will now "work with" the countries over the next six months in an effort to reduce the risks.

"If they are able to show evidence of change then there will be no need to introduce a visa regime," said Mr Byrne.

The criteria for the Home Office's Visa Waiver Test included looking at passport security and integrity; the degree of co-operation over deportation or the removal of a country's nationals from the UK.

Levels of illegal working in the UK and other immigration abuses, levels of crime and the risk of a visitor committing a terrorist act were also considered.

Salam all....

If Dolah can tipu TDM and Malays before, it is not possible he will tipu Najib about handling over. Come December, all UMNO grassroots will kena tipu again.

Gosh!!! Never had this kind of very disgusted feelings toward Dolah and his hard to honour statements.

This time line is for the AAB camp to kill off any chance for Najib to be PM. For Najib to challenge AAB at the end of the year will make him look power hungry and impatient. Smart move by AAB...and 2 years is a long long long wait for Najib. Maybe he has the patience, what about Rosemary? She must be fuming.

1. What Pak Lah has decided is clearly a good example of "hidung tak mancung, pipi tersorong-sorong".

2. He must know that the rakyat wants him gone, and he should take Khairy along with him.

"Helloo .. Hello .. Si Telek ? Are you there ?"

lame excuse to stay on and rape the country further. Since he is performing badly as PM of Malaysia, he should be stepping down now and letting others a chance to perform. Anybody else would be able to do better than this flipflop PM. If he were a CEO of a company, he would be long gone.

Just another unquestionable bullshit from Imam Islam Hadhari to preserve his Kerajaan Tiga Beranak dynasty. He is actually buying time to strengthen the mainframe for aspiring PM-by-40 SIL. After Pak Lah and Najib are re-elected by UMNO lapdogs in Dec 08, the C4 military file surfaced and Najib is considered not fit to be the next PM. There's a big smile from SIL ... Wali Kota

Most important is not the announcement but the PROOF. Only when we start to see PM delegating his responsibilites to Najib can we say that the leadership transition is taking place. This has to happen within the next 6 months. Otherwise the leadership transition is only cakap-cakap.

The ISA MUST be abolished and those held without trial MUST be released.

My heart goes out to Aina's family. How cruel that they treated the matter so lightly.

And poor sweet Aina....she couldn't wait any longer...

May her family continue to be brave, strong and patient in face of tragedy and hardship.

And May Allah SWT bless Aina's soul. Al-Fatihah!

From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.

Bahagian 9 Oktober - 9 November. Agong 16-20 Disember.

Fikirkan apa yang dikata sebelum pergi bersidang.

Sedia berjuang. Tentangi kekangan. Hilangkan ketakutan. Rungkaikan pergantungan.

Berani lakukan perubahan!

Bersuara. Sebarang manipulasi ditentang habis-habisan. Usul diguna untuk nyatakan pendirian. Undi diguna dengan penuh kebijaksanaan dan keberanian.

To those of you who are wondering about the "6 Magical Boxes" from Ezam, you can read about it at :-

An interview with NST with Ezam. In essence, Ezam said that he doesn't really know what’s in the boxes AND he doesn't keep the boxes. Anwar has the boxes.

yellowinside, must be very yellow in your inside.

i'm sorry...unlike you, i am not able to make a sweeping judgement about sharial just becos he is an Indon PR.

A court of law will suitably punish him.

How I shiver and quiver at the thought of people like you who may happen to be in power.......

i still maintain that the ISA should abolished and those held without trial be released!!
