Baby Boy For Khairy & Nori

Nori Abdullah delivered a baby boy this afternoon. Nori is the daughter of the Prime Minister and wife of Khairy Jamaluddin, the Umno Youth deputy chief.

Congratulations to the couple who must be so thrilled.
And it's a Ramadhan baby.

Here's the Bernama story:

Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin and Nori Abdullah became proud parents of a baby boy on the first day of Ramadan today (Thursday, Sept 13).
Nori, who is the daughter of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, delivered the baby weighing 3.3kg at the Pantai Medical Centre at 1.25 pm.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) for delivering us a healthy baby in this holy month of Ramadan. Both mother and child are healthy and doing well," Khairy told Bernama.
He thanked the management and staff of Pantai Medical Centre, especially Dr Premitha Damodaran, for the excellent care that they have provided Nori and the baby."
"Nori and I are also very grateful for all the phone calls and text messages that we have received from everyone," he said.
On the name of the baby, Khairy said: "We have a very short short-list. It will be decided very soon."
Commenting on whom the baby looked like, Khairy quipped, "Thank God, my son looks like his Mama and not like me."

I am glad he was born here. When a pal from Australia e-mailed me to say that Nori had given birth to a boy, I thought she'd gone to Australia to deliver. PM and family have been spending a lot of their time Down Under ...

Congrats. Many times, a baby changes the outlook of the parents for the better. I hope this will be the case.

Selamat berbuka puasa.

Did Bernama publish a story about & how Marina Mahathir delivered a baby girl name Ineza, (maybe?) 19 years ago?

Isn't the daughter of the Prime Minister then and Ineza is the first born grandchild of Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohd. Ali?

Why is the media, including Bernama giving so much attention to Khairy's and Nori's first born????

I am very happy for them and the Prime Minister but I don't think people should be interested in the first born news. Its nothing of interests of the general public. This is TOTALLY PRIVATE matter.

Next time Rocky, Jeff Ooi or Tony Yew gets a child or Bernard Khoo gets a grandchild, can the media, especially Bernama give coverage? They are All-Blogs excos and of course they have a significant place in society, as Khairy Jamaluddin is.

rocky: i know what you mean... i wouldnt be surprised either if nori had the baby Downunder... but i am glad she had her baby here.

well, rocky...let's hope so...

i do believe there was a news item on that. and when she delivered her second as well...

Apology first and foremost, so not my age to speak.

Alah, i think they cover the story to shut up the negative news we've been hearing. With the pilihan raya coming up and all. In the end,its still politic.

Being born in Australia within non-PR parents does not give you citizenship any more. That lubang has been closed for some years now. At least mother must PR or one parent Aussie for citizenship by descent. If born in Malaysia then one parent must be Aussie for citizenship by descent. But I'm not surprised the baby was in Malaysia...bumi status,NEP, cheap loans, privileges,AP from Rafidah, etc is guaranteed.
