UPDATE: Royal Commission Of Inquiry, Inquest..

I'm sorry, folks.

My earlier posting was -- as I had indicated -- from Malaysiakini's initial report.

Here's the story:

PUTRAJAYA: The Cabinet will form a royal commission to scrutinise the mode of questioning employed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to determine whether human rights have been violated during the questioning of a Selangor political aide who was found dead subsequently.

The Cabinet, at its meeting today, also decided that an inquest be held next week to determine the cause of death of the political aide, Teoh Beng Hock, whose body was found on Thursday on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam, which houses the MACC office on the 14th floor.

These details were announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who also said that the Home Ministry and the police had been instructed to complete investigations into the case as soon as possible, and that a report on the matter would be made public.

The death of Teoh, 30, who was the political aide to Selangor New Village Development and Illegal Factory Task Force Committee chairman Ean Yong Hian Wah, raised public outcry after he was found dead at a corridor of the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam on Thursday following questioning as a witness by the MACC over alleged misuse of funds by Pakatan Rakyat Selangor state executive councillors.

Najib told reporters the Cabinet decisions were prompted by the desire to conduct a thorough investigation to find out the cause of the incident. (NST online)

COSMETICS FOR MATTER DRASTIC?

Are we getting famous in applying cosmetics
Even in any serious matter that's dramatic
Putting on a show that seems to be systematic
While camouflaging the core issue that's drastic

Potong stim betul najib ni. Kita nak RCI dan siasat mcmana dia mati - jatuh atau dijatuhkan?, ala mcm wh questions tu. Takat buat inquest headed by a magistret, siapa dia majistret tu nak lawan MACC & PDRM. E/thing will be swept under the carpet and the verdict is already known even be the inquest starts. Mati sbb cedera akibat terjatuh dari tempat tinggi.

Betul lah tu kak, ketua NST tu si Zainul tu pun menyokong Ketuanan Melayu dan memperjuangkan MACC & PDRM sebagai insititusi Melayu, baguslah tu untuk konsep 1Malaysia si Najib....

this RC will determine, among other things, if beng hok's rights have been violated; i.e. they will determine if macc did or didn't kill him...am i right? and the inquest is to determine who or what killed him. Betul ka my reading ni? if betul, i think it is a good move, because there are 2institutions to take on this case, macam check and balance la.

wat for ? the RCI is just to scold the macc staff NOT to work overtime
beyond office hours BUT ...BUT not on 'HOW poor Beng Hock been thrown out from the 14th floor' ( though one idiot said TBH jumped out by himself ! )
besides, someone wanted to keep the expensive SONY phone some more !!

Zainul was saying that these institutions are predominantly Malay, which is a REALITY to be considered. He didn't mean it was an IDEAL untuk disokong atau diperjuang.

Most bloggers could not write or read articles written in Malaysian Laguage. That is why Zainul Ariffin articles which was published in Berita Harian was wrongly understood and concluded. Those who can read Malay so well, couldn't see which parts that was seditious. However the reaction towards that article which make this issue of accidental death appeared seditious.
