Luring Them To PKR.....

Good move by Parti Keadilan Rakyat to get some big names into the party. Lawyer and former Umno member/Cabinet Minister Zaid Ibrahim joined the party earlier this year.
A few days ago, (former) MCA stalwart Chua Jui Meng followed suit. Two MCA members tagged along.

Zaid has invited Umno veteran leader Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah to join PKR. Ku Li has declined and explained so in his online response.

He said: "......I am not in Umno because I “harbour hope of saving Umno” in its present incarnation. I remain because the cause for which Umno was formed, and the principles which guided its promotion, has not gone away just because we have lost our way 60 years later, and they need to be upheld.

"A second reason I shall not be accepting Zaid’s kind offer is that things have deteriorated to the point that party affiliation is really not the issue anymore. The issue is how we are to save our country.
What we must do now goes beyond political parties. We need the rakyat to rise up to claim their institutions, and demand that our public institutions are answerable to them. We must wake up to our sovereignty as citizens, reclaim the constitution which constitutes us as a nation and guarantees our rights, and demand a comprehensively reformed government to restore public confidence. We must do this before it is too late".

Will Zaid take "no" for an answer?
Who else on PKR's list?

the Biggest name on PKR list is not that of Zaid Ibrahim, Anwar Ibrahim , Khalid Ibrahim or Chua Jui Meng.........

The biggest and most important name is RAKYAT MALAYSIA is with PKR

I'd rather focus on Ku Li's comments in that last paragraph.

For a person so seasoned in politics to state that things are in disarray with the country's top institutions suggests that the govt of the day is not doing things right.

Why not write about that Kak, instead of wanting to figure out who's on whose shopping list??

The most important component of his comment/speech was,
"A second reason I shall not be accepting Zaid’s kind offer is that things have deteriorated to the point that party affiliation is really not the issue anymore. The issue is how we are to save our country."

Our country is in dire trouble. Of course, we could say that it is Ku Li's opinion.

But in reality we have reached "Hell's Gate". We are almost like South America, just prior to the unleashing of the paramilitary dogs of war. The Honorable Minister wants to increase the number of RELA members in each state. Similar to the paramilitary troopers in South America, and even Sri Lanka/ Pakistan. These chaps come in the dark of the night, or as our Filipino brothers showed when an exiled leader arrives at the airport, they walk up and put a bullet thru the head.

Ku Li is saying that we are in trouble. I concur.

We cannot opine racial discord, we cannot instigate racial discord with our opinions. I ask for self censorship, and push to save this country of ours.

I ask this for all the refugees who landed in this beautiful land, from the time of Parameswara to today, lets stop this rubbish. Lets go back to the principles of the Tengku and his friends.

When so many senior politician start
defection to the opposite side,it says alot about the ruling party and
its credibility to rule.Do they need
the majority to send a message in the
next election before they take heed.

To be cleansed of sins, just jump ship.

Any useless BN fellow who jumps over the fence will automatically be hailed and praised beyond belief. The same with PR crossing the fence too.

It is akin to selling a used car.

Take your well kept car to the used car trader and see how he runs down your car to a forced sell price. When he re-sells it, he will tell the potential customer that the previous owner looks after his car well, never drive it in the rain, polishes the car weekly, tunes the engine daily etc. and ups the price three fold.

Politicians are the same. Individuals are the same.

But why can't anyone join the party they like? It seems like a sin to hop doesn't it?

Ibrahim Ali was once labeled a 'frog' for jumping, but Zaid is not. Chua is not.

Wonder why.

A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.

Hey Artchan (or whoever you are),

You know nuraina or not????

She just REjoined NST. She was with NST for 27 or 28 years-lah.

You stupid or what?

She is not an Umno member -- as far as I know.

Why would she want to join a political party? PKR included?

Obviously you never read her postings. Anwar ibrahim is a clsoe friend of hers. So are many of the PKR leaders. Lim Kit Siang is a friend of her late father and always has time for Nuraina. many Pas leaders (the old-timers) know her well.

In fact, at the NST, she was known to be an Anwarista those days, though she admires and respects TDM.
As for Najib...can't be helped. They've known each other for a long time since he was a young politician and she was a young reporter.

So what's your problem?

How is he going to help do that by staying within the corrupt regime? He is well aware that UMNO has lost the plot and not serious in wanting change. This has been proven over and over many times in the past. The latest being Teoh Beng Hock's death.
Wouldn't it be more sensible for him to join forces with some one who really want change for the better.Or of course unkless he still harbors hope that the corrupt leaders will some how suddenly pass the leadership to him, which I honestly will hope so.But we all know that it will never happen. If Ku LI is really serious about the well being of the country he should seriuosly consider Zaid's offer.

"Luring" is how you label it when its a call from PKR to someone in UMNO.

What would it be when it is the reverse?

NURAINA A SAMAD said...
