Whitney Houston RIP (1963 - 2012)

Pop legend, songbird, actress -- Whitney died yesterday (Saturday) at 3.55pm (LA time) at the Beverley Hilton.

She was 48. Causes of her death are still unknown.

So tragic. So sad. Such an incredible talent. Her sudden death was so unbelievable, I know. I was shocked when I got the news, but not entirely surprised because I know that she had not been that well and was battling "demons"....

Only last night I was watching the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert and the rerun of Michael Jackson: This Is It.

And now, news of Whitney's death. Gone too soon. Tragic...

Outpouring of love for this sweet soul in twitter....#Whitney.

We can never forget you...

We will always love you....

May you rest in peace.

Nuraina,it is sad that Whitney Houston had to die at such a young age.Her husband Bobby Brown feeding her drugs to get her dependable on him was the cause of her getting stuck on drugs.

When I first heard "Saving All My Love For You", I was old enough to appreciate her talent.

Nuraina,it is no secret here that what Bobby Brown was to Whitney Houston,is what Michael Jackson's quack was to him.

bruno: yes...it really seemed that way. but his fans tell us that bobby cleaned up and after they divorced, she was still on them. thing is, with drug abuse, being free of it is not as easy or simple. the damage was done.. she was damaged. he was the cause. so he managed to clean up..i think she was left so broken and unable to deal with so much, and the depth of depression etc.. it is so easy to say that, well, he's gone out of your life, so just move on, woman...
she had such a grounded background and upbringing. sure, ultimately, we are all accountable for our actions, we are adults..but hey, if it was that simple, then we won't have depressed people in the world who need psychiatric care... or anti-depressants..

so yes, as whitney famously said, BBrown wsa her drug..

azli : i will tell you one thing, there was no song like "saving all my love for you"...the meaning fo the song, about a mistress or a woman having a relationship or, more sordidly, an affair, with a married man. i mean..hello..who ever sang that kind of song???

that was the first song introduced to me in 1985 by a friend who got the debut tape from her sister who was studying in australia.

in those days, no internet, i tune etc..in malaysia, we'd only know of the latest songs from friends/family abroad or if they were played on the radio...or/and music video.

when i knew of whitney -and only of "saving all my love" which was debuted as a single in australia -- it was not played on radio yet. but the album was already available.

i rushed to the nearest music shop and got one. and man -- i was totally screwed (in a nice way). any woman in a complicated relationship back then (and even now) would be so e m o t i o n al.

two weeks later, this song was on the radio waves and played in shopping complexes..the rest is history.
