"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father and person" -- Tiger Woods.
Woohoo!
Good for you, Tiger. Real tough decision.
Perhaps you'll return -- some day -- with a bang.
Anyway, it's amazing, and of course, so expected, that people are dissecting Tiger, cutting him up into pieces, just to find an explanation for what he did -- cheated on his wife (very much without her knowledge), many times over.
These people, including personality and behavioral experts, want to know why he acted the way he did beneath the veneer of wholesomeness and that all-American family-man image.
Bet you, Oprah will be discussing him, if she hasn't already.
Larry King had "experts" giving possible reasons for his infidelity. One expert said that Tiger behaved very much like someone with a troubled childhood. Or who was sexually abused. Oh yeah?
As the world now knows, this 33 year-old world top golfer (and the world’s first athlete to surpass $1 billion in career earnings) had been having rampant extramarital affairs with 9 women.
All this came out into the open after a car crash outside his Florida home. There were speculations arising from that accident because, among other things, his wife, Elin, was at the scene, with a golf club and the windscreen of his SUV was smashed.
And from then on, the proverbial pandora box was unlocked. Scandal after scandal were unleashed.
Quite a cheat sheet, if you ask me.
This guy had another life. And what a life. One that Elin who is the mother of his 2 young children, was not aware of...until, well.. 9 women later.
Actually, there is nothing unusual or abnormal about Tiger's transgressions. What's "outstanding" is the fact that he, a mega sports star, managed to keep his affairs pretty well under wraps, and for a pretty long time.
And we're talking about many affairs. Like a serial transgressor.
A very dissatisfied man, or someone who just wants to have loads of fun and sex simply because he can?
Anyway, as they say...you can't hide (what you're doing) forever. Sooner or later...
So...do all mega-rich men inevitably cheat on their partners?
You know, I do not know of any mega-rich man who is able to stay faithful to his partner for a long time. I suppose they are faithful to one, at a time.
But, hey...what do I know..
Can they sustain fidelity to one woman? Do they invariably succumb to temptations? And there's plenty of that around.
These men can look as ugly as hell, but when you've got the money, honey, you've got the babes.
And an athlete like Tiger? Any athlete, for that matter. them babes come to him like bees to honey.
What more when you are super-rich. Right?
Remember all the reports in the tabloids about basketball, football and soccer players cavorting with women in wild parties, and bedding them. Some names come to mind.
So. what is so difficult to understand why Tiger did what he did.
He did what any man in his position would do. And that's not an exaggeration.
Anyway, I wish him well!

I think he lived in a 'pressure cooker' environment since young. Maybe all that stress got to him. Couldn't think straight.
Crying over spilled milk no point. Game over already. Everyone knows. If wife don't except Tiger back can't blame her. So, what to do now? Everywhere he goes no more royal treatment. Maybe get bad treatment in restaurants, hotels, shopping complex, etc.
If he still got lots of money why not buy an island? Call it 'Tiger Island' There he can have his own fantasy island. Call all the 9 or more gals and live with them there. Can also have his own private golf course. Then, if he want to make more money, can call all those gatal old golfers to go there.
all men, given half the chance, will cheat on their women. this goes without exception. the ones who do not, are simply because they are either too scared of their women or does not have the means to do so. its not because they are good or faithful or God fearing. i think its a biological thing. in the animal kingdom, almost all males instinctively try to mate with as many females as they can (well, with maybe the exception of polar bear and certain birds). i guess the same rule applies in the human world. well, to guys who are reading this - if u get caught, blame it on BIOLOGY. stupid tiger blamed it on CHEMISTRY and got whacked with a golf club by his wife. hopefully none of u will try to blame it on BN pulak, that one, i ll come and help yr wife whack yr head myself.
Nothing unusual about Tiger. So he made a mistake or many mistakes. How many a man, and I mean man, can claim they'd not transgressed this social norm? Tiger is just another human after all. Or animal. Aren't we, men, all? Were Sukarno still alive, today, he'd congratulate Tiger, not despise him. People, give tiger a break!
I agree absolutely with Trigger Tiger.
Any guy who has NEVER transgressed, please stand up!!
hah! I bet no guy can.
Seriously, Nuraina. Fidelity (of man) is so overrated. Sure, there are women who are unfaithful. Too few and far between. And those who do are either pathological (exception to the rule) or they have been hurt by their partners or ignored/neglected. always a reason for their, er, straying. Scientific research will show that very few women enter such liaison by design.
anyway, lesser men than Tiger have done worse. No excuse for what Tiger did. Infidelity is infidelity.
The piint is NO MAN CAN BE TRUSTED. so we have to deal with it.
I know of many men...but I'll talk of only one person whom I knew years ago. When he was a small-time officer, he was a one-wife man. oh yes...he flirted. gatal like most men. but nothing serious simply because HE COULD NOT AFFORD IT!
then, he got promoted big. And that's when he started taking the idea of affairs seriously. I mean, seriously. he had an affair with a junior officer and married her.
One of my male colleagues years ago told me that men (in general), given a chance, would marry another.
What's stopping them?
"Tak ada duit!"
I rest my case!
NOW, i can take part & win without him! tq, tiger ...meow !!
Let He Who Is Without Sin..."
by Wayne Blank
The "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone" incident is one of the most well-known lessons of the Bible. A woman, who had been caught in the act of adultery was brought to Jesus Christ by the scribes (see Lawyers) and Pharisees (see Who Were The Pharisees?) as a test to see if the Messiah was a liberal in matters of the Law of God. In response to their deceitful query, He didn't condemn the woman, not because He was a liberal, not because He condoned her sin, but because the men who brought the woman to Him were Hypocrites. He was the only person there that day who was free of sin, the only one who had the right to "cast the first stone." He didn't stone her (or her accusers), but instead forgave her and told her to "sin no more." Otherwise, the day is coming when she, if she didn't thereafter repent, won't be stoned, but will be burned - along with the hypocrites who brought her to Him that day, if they didn't thereafter repent of their sin:
Let's not moralise as all of us have done what tiger did physically or mentally.....
Leave him alone lah, we sinners...
marriage (as an institution that we understand today) no longer works. co-living is the way of future
I read somewhere that 11% of married women have extramarital affairs and more than 60% of the men. That's the American standard.
I am not too sure if the above statistics also apply to Malaysians.
So, being American, what Tiger did is something that's not surprising at all and for him to have a dozen affairs, I don't think he love his wife.
Sorry Elin or Erin, whatever, but you may go with US$300 million.
Best regards.
