Oh, That Sex Video.....

Now that we know there's a bad bad video of a man who resembles DSAI having sex with a woman, are we to sweep it under the carpet?

(A police special task force is investigating the case. The video is with them)

It depends on whether you support the man or not. It boils down almost to that.

But here's a perspective by NST columnist Umapagan Ampikaipakan:

"Is it important? Of course, it is. Not just because sex sells newspapers. Not just because sex gets the hits. But because the moral issues of our time have moved from those which were social to those that are very personal. Because we live in a time where public persons are not allowed private lives. Where every aspect of their being is scrutinised. Because rightly or wrongly, we want them to be everything that we are not. We expect them to be better. The argument of being "merely human" no longer applies.

Is it news? Of course, it is. Because "conversation may be compared to a lyre with seven chords -- philosophy, art, poetry, love, scandal, and the weather". Because we live in a time where gossip is often mistaken for gospel, where informed rumours are accepted as fact. And it is the role of the media to tune out all the noise in an attempt to uncover the truth. Because the consequences of these events can make or break a politician. It can forever divert the course of our politics.

Does it matter? Of course, it does. In a democracy, if the majority of the voting public believe that adultery is a crime, shouldn't they be entitled to know whether a potential leader is unfaithful to his wife?"

Read his column HERE.

It's also interesting that the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism wants the government to take “swift and firm action” against the people behind the scandal.

It president Rev Dr Thomas Philips described the episode as “sad, sordid" that had once again brought Malaysia to prominence for the wrong reasons.

The people behind the scandal would be the three trio of datuks - Rahim Thamby Chik, Eskay Abdullah and Shuaib Lazim.

I agree that these tiga sekawan should be dealt with for having in their possession the video and being behind this this ...this thing.

I'm sure we want so many questions answered..about who, what and how. Most importantly, why.

So, shouldn't the government verify whether the video is authentic because if it isn't, then the trio obviously was attempting to portray DSAI as a ...oh, you know.

As expected, the statement yesterday by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz that the Datuk T trio can be protected under the law attracted response.

Yusmadi Yusoff (PKR-Balik Pulau) the trio cannot be protected under the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010 as they do not meet the requirements in the law.

Today, Nazri said that they cannot be protected under the Whistleblower Protection Act but might be under the Witness Protection Act if there was a case to answer,
Read the Bernama report HERE.

Meanwhile, I heard that the Datuk T trio are fearing for their safety. They're all at home and they can see so many people outside.

They are afraid to leave their houses.

Disgraceful!I mean the main media...for insinuating that the fella who looks like Anwar in the sex video maybe Anwar !It is not for Anwar to prove that he is not the man in the video. It is for the three
lowest of the low species of human beings to back up their claim that the man in the video is Anwar. And,if they cannot prove conclusively, they will have to be punished....fined for defamation, and fined and jailed for possession of the sex video and for screening it blatanty to representatives of the media as well as for blackmail.Perception-wise,
this attempt at assasinating Anwar morally may actually backfire to the detriment of UMNO and BN !

Nuraina A Samad's 3540 Jalan Sudin:

Dear madam :

Salam.

Its all right to show and peddle openly in such porn? The end justifies the means madam..What exactly is the end itu...Keselesaan hidup sendiri ? What does one`s consciense says...Nothing...?

Should you not be madam be using your pena /writing to tell the PDRM/IGP to ensure appropriate action/charges are brought against the trio...?

What about you madam ?

Menteri Nazri bolih spin apa juga yang hendak di spin. Full Stop.

DEAR Nuraina,
The laws of the land are such that anyone is considered innocent until proven guilty, so hence DSAI cannot be guilty as of yet..but as far as the 3 datuks are concerned it is quite clear that their showing of a such a VILE video in public constitutes an act of wrongdoing which necesitates the due process of the law to kick them..er..i mean,to kick into process,so that the land in which we all live in is continued to be respected by all and sundry worldwide, especially now that it has been made public from the start by the 3 datuks themselves.
As FOR the 3 datuks being fearful and being indoors now, surely they should know the fact that just like for spiderman, that with any PUBLIC showing of authority there must be the equal responsibility TO BEAR WITH THEREON.

Why are you echoing other people? Is that what you are good at? You just want to insinuate...so when people bark at you, you can deny you did not say such and such! Just keep quiet and stop copying other people's stuff.

Bet you kak that Datuk T have left the country.
After all they had done the job that they are suppose to do and the finishing part you know who will make the final crossing line or it will just disappear or another kambing hitam.
The truth is memalukan and was done by three Melayu!!! and Islam pulak tu!

tidak-kah saudara ingin tahu sama ada video yg berkenaan itu authentic? and whether or not that person is the person those trio has claimed him to be?

sure, take action against the trio for having in their possession that contentious video and screening it to some people.

that is not all.
sebab tiga sekawan ni are involved in an attempt to assassinate the character of an elected leader. whichever you want to see it, it has got to be investigated.
because it means that the trio had really got someone to act like this person and filmed the sordid adegan -- all bermotif politik.

yes, i agree. Anwar's guilt is not in question here.
i've said from the start...i've facebooked it and tweeted when this all started -- for the police to find datuk t and arrest him etc...
but as you know...datuk t...confessed publicly that they were behind it all and they were duly detained (although they denied it) for questioning and released on bail.

yes, i agree 1000 per cent --".....so that the land in which we all live in is continued to be respected by all and sundry worldwide...."

Salam, to Nuraina, your point is valid. We do not want a PM who pretends to be good but fuck-around behind our back. The question is whether it was DSAI or a body-double was used. Film makers used body double all the times.
To UMNOans here, take a look at the comments. Talk to the masses. Whats is the mood of Melayu around us. Are we repeating the GE99? Elok-elok orang Melayu dah mula ok balik, kita buat macam ini.

NURAINA A SAMAD said...

anon@10:03am,

indeed.

investigations will tell us whether or not the video is authentic -- in every sense of the word and term.

whatever the finding, the outcome -- it is of immense consequence.

it is not just a sex video.

if we want to talk about the interest of the country, then this is about the interest of our country.

Anwar Groupies take note: If your idol aspires to be the PM of this land, then he must subject himself to public scrutiny. None of you can claim to have seen the video, so dont make stupid pronouncements. a number of people who have actually seen it say they are convinced its anwar. For that reason alone anwar must prove its not him. As for the trio- well some of us just love to shoot the messenger- go on, make your day. Punish them or whatever- theyre not important. They're not head of any political organisation. But whether anwar did or did not commit the act is important and must be ascertained.Dont go after the wrong guys just because you cannot bear the thought that the guy in the video might be anwar.

one more think, the video if authentic, is not enough but need to prove without doubt the actor is Anwar or not. Otherwise, everyone including you should keep quite. Let do favour to pressure the actual rule of law happen in this country. I mean, let police work really for the security of the people (not UMNO), judge work really for justice of the people (not UMNO) and news media work really for really for authentic info to people (not fitnah). If all these occur in this country, we dont have such things like what we face now. As a Muslim, i would rather voice for injustice that occur to accused who clearly has been politically motivated (not morally motivated because those who accused are immoral).
