Tun Dr M For Senior Minister?

There has been a suggestion that former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad be made a senior minister.

Here's the Bernama report in the Star.

Dr Mahathir was PM for 22 years until his retirement in October 2003. He is honorary president of the Perdana Leadership Foundation and is a blogger.

Meanwhile, the Tun has something to say about politicians who hold religious ceramah HERE.

We had enough of Mahathir for 22 years. My question to Dr.Mahathir: What about writters/commentators,who has no religious qualification at all,to write and comment on religion(Islam)?
Personally, they should be barred from making a fool of themselves, and misleading others.

Seriously? UMNO leaders got their own agenda. You are still around and they don't give a dime where Proton is concerned. They did not seek your advice or counsel with regards Petronas. Please do not delude yourself and assume that UMNO will jump each time you hold your breath. Don't be an aged force with no tangible power, grabbing at straws. Go smell the flowers and not trying to run the country. Your Era has passed. Sad but true. Ask Tengku Razaleigh or Musa Hitam.

We do forget easily don't we. The Man and the things he had done that we all know of. And the things he had done that we we, ordinary folks do not know of.

That aside, the Man is way passed his prime. The law of diminishing returns may have set in. He certainly needs his rest.

Then again, is the nation so bereave of brains or great minds ?
Or is it the existing political plays that disallow great mind to come forth

Is this a new strategy to in one way or other shut him up? After all without a portfolio, he appears to be a loose canon!!

Salam Nuraina,

I think it's absurd that for a man like Tun who despise Lee Kuan Yew so much will be following the same path.

In fact it's a known fact that he is already unofficially the Senior Minister. We all know for a fact that the idea to appoint Mukhriz Mahathir as a Deputy Minister comes from Tun and also the idea of owning an F1 Team certainly didn't come from Najib as i'm sure the PM will be more interested in playing the game of golf...

Hm..Looks like so many people had forgotten all those peacefulness, prosperity etc which we had achieved during his tenure. Otherwise I don’t think all of youl could easily sit on your seat giving comments within this multimedia environment. Just like small chidren who had forgotten their parental effort. Even LKY was given special privilege as adviser….the funny things he had followed some of Tun Dr Mahathir steps eg built up F1 for economy benefit. I could not look upon other people with such high respect

If money is no more a problem, a retiree should spend the rest of his/her short life doing charity giving back to society but in malaysia, most retirees are still working hard for deals or power until they drop.Nobody gives one damn for charity.

DON'T ROB ANY JOB EVEN FROM A MOB

Let's follow the principle of best person for the best job
When things are not so simple as plucking a maize cob
Let's have original thinking and not that of any extreme mob
So that there's fair play all around without anyone to rob

Dear frens,
I think Tun should spend time the way he is now. He got other activities pile up already and I'm sure he also have some influence to the current BN government. Sure, he can follow like Anwar, be hired to advice the BN government for token sum of RM 1......hahaha, what Tun M will say of this himself. If he say "for free", then what you get for free compare RM1....hahahaha. Tun want to emulate Lee Kuan Yew? his arch enemy?

good diana good.

thank you indeed for the peaceful, prosperous 22 years.

look at what happen to us now when he's not the pm.

we are having such a mess with anwar. only tun can manage him.

we did have a tough time with pak lah, and lost a lot too. so different from dynamic tun.

if only tun did not stop at 22 years, and continue till 30 years, or as long as he can serve, we will definitely do well.

hopefully tun can come back asap. why cant he be our pm again? he is still strong.

he can easily solve mca, mic, matters too

Oh dear..How can we have him since seems so forgetful..at least about his own misdeeds. Surely an essential competency for such a senior position is good memory..so that we would learn from our mistakes and not only put right our mistakes if possible but also not to repeat them.
