We're Competent, Man. Very Competent!

Prime Minister Najib Razak gave an assurance to investors today that Malaysia is run by very competent politicians.

He said this when opening AUO Sunpower Corporation Sdn Bhd's manufacturing plant in Alor Gajah.

Take the US$600mil (RM1.88bil) investment, for example. That money is to set up the world's largest solar panel manufacturing plant.

A good example of "effective partnership" between the federal government, state government and foreign investors, Najib remarked.

The plant, which covers 108,000sq m, is a joint venture between US-based Sunpower Corporation and Taiwanese company AOU.

It will be able to produce more 1,400 megawatts of high-efficiency solar cells annually by 2013 and will employ 4,000 workers and engineers.

Of course, there are lots more examples.

So there, you Kiasu people!

kak, comments are made usually in reference to a particular subject or time.

In this case they 'must be ' referring to 'sleepy head'

What is true, is their condescending attitude. Kiasu they are for sure.

He should have just kept quiet....maybe we would have all forgotten all that Singaporean speak....but now that he has said that our leaders are competent, I now am on a treasure hunt, reading clues, examining evidence, analysing data, asking questions, searching, searching, searching for that elusive competent politician!!

Joining me Nuraina? Let me know if and when you find one.

One bird does not make a summer !
Besides the project is there because of the cheap labour that is available and not because it is run by a group of competent politicians !

Nuraina,

If what you said are any where near the truth that the Malaysian political leader are competent why is it that my argument in my blog is being deleted ? Is it not true that this company is here not because of the skill and know how of the political leaders ? They are here simply because of the cheap labour available here and nothing else.
Please blog without any fear or favour !

Yes folks you heard it right – a car race, some “Formula 1 Drift Race”. Wikileaks said the Malaysian politicians are incompetent. How many of you disagree with this observation by Wikileaks?

The system of a nation is chosen by the people who choose their leaders who in turn choose the system...

So...who's to take credit or the blame for competency or lack thereof?

To Anon 1:25 PM.

Ever since the first race car movie 'The Fast and The Furious' years ago, there have been many street race car wannabes. The once quite roads have become a noisy and dangerous place.

The way I see it, there has to be some level of competency in the decision making process by allowing such street racing activities.

In America and Japan, there are designated roads to race. Not illegal like in the movies but actual designated places where car enthusiasts can race at their hearts content.

I guess competency is the clever catering to the needs of all.
