Everything Will Be OK On May 7

When we were in Ipoh last week for the forum on the Perak crisis (the National Press Club series of national discourse), people could not stop talking about May 7.

What will be happening on May 7 when the Perak State Assembly sits? Will there be trouble given the state's political crisis?

There was concern, hence, speculations. There were also re-assurances that everything will be okay.

Today, Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the safety of all 59 Perak assemblymen attending the State Assembly sitting on that day is assured.

Here's the rest of the Bernama report:

Zambry said the authorities were taking all necessary measures to faclitate the assemblymen's attendance of the sitting and would take action against anyone or group that resort to illegal action like holding unlawful gatherings to prevent it.

He said this after attending a thanksgiving function organised by Pasir Salak Umno in Kampung Gajah here yesterday.

Zambry further urged all quarters to respect the parliamentary democracy practised in the country and the laws of the nation.

Perak plunged into a crisis after the Pakatan coalition of PAS-DAP-PKR lost its majority in the assembly to the Barisan Nasional in early February, hence the need for the reassurance.

Thank you, Cik Nuraini. I am so relieved to know that all will be well come May 7th. Because the usurper says so. And so it will be so. That is insofar as the assemblymen are concerned.

Can he give the same assurance that the anak Perakians who are planning to converge on Ipoh come the 7th will also be safe?

Sape cakap tak OK sis? Semua nya orait janji dengar apa UMNO/BN cakap.
But if they want to fight in the Dewan, then let it be, after all with or without them the people of Perak masih dalam keadan yang sama.
All 28 PAKATAN ADUN can tender their resignation and force for 28 by election. Why force UMNO/BN to bubar the DUN which you know Zambrie will not do it.
So it will be orait on 7 May and it will also be orait the next day for 28 vacant seats in DUN Perak for grab. PK.Ipoh mali.

Nuraini, the only situation that will be ok is for the DUN to dissolve and fresh elections held; not change of speaker.

You appear to be an incorrigible optimism. After all that has happened, how can one take that joker Zambry's word at face value?

Politicians do not say what they mean and do not mean what they say. Perhaps, you may disagree, but UMNO's politicians are exemplary of this saying, par excellent!

It's getting predictability silly at Perak.

The rules of the game has been bent, straightened and bent over and over.

But, there sure will be some sore losers who will not take 'no' for an answer.

May Day, May Day!

A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.

What guarantee can be given by someone who bulldosed thru the democratic system via coup deta?
At the same time they shooed everyone from being near the state assembly.
What kind of democracy is this?
Why is Zambry afraid of public uproar against him?
Why cant he face the public?
Only UMNO used thugs to force things their way just like what happened to PKR ADUN Yunus Jamsri who was beaten by men in 4 cars.
How come no news reported in the the media?

I hope it will be peaceful. But if it's not then I'm not surprised. Perak's as well as Malaysia's constitutions (the supreme laws) had been torn apart. So what's the point of abiding by the law. The authorities must lead by example and always remember respect must be EARNED not forced upon. There's no point in urging the people to follow the law when they themselves blatantly trampled on it. Gobind Singh's case against the speaker of parliament is a good test case to see how the judiciary is going to butar belit the law having ruled earlier that perak speaker's decision CAN be challenged in court (a blatant disregard for the constitution from those in the know)

I am sorry I cannot be there on 7 May 2009 due to fatherly responsibility for my 2 autistic sons. But I would want to be able to tell them in the future that I did contribute a bit toward 7 May 2009.

In the death of someone important, for example a member of the police force, a football team member or a family member. The mourning members will wear a BLACK ARM BAND. This coming 7 May 2009 is the death of something very dear to our heart, the people of Malaysia.

It will be the Death of Democracy!

The following Black Arm Band is design by me.. anyone can use it for the purpose intended

This is something I would like to share with all friends. When I first went into Lim Kit Siang's blog (blog.limkitsiang.com), the first thing I read is him calling Mukhriz (Jerlun MP) and Tan Keng Liang (gerakan kedah youth chief) as people "lack of grey matters" and silly. That was about 2 weeks ago. Today, I read that he said "the IQ of the Health Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, who is MCA Vice President and Penang MCA State chief, is highly suspect when he could not understand simple English". The problem is that the more Lim Kit Siang branding that he is smarter than the rest of the people in the world (which I don't belief), the more people will just see him as a person barking on the wrong tree. I support DAP but I wish that our party's chairman can be more polite when addressing other leaders (whether they are Barisan or Pakatan). Otherwise, this will set bad example to the new generation of Malaysians.

Everything will not be okay...unless the assembly is dissolved and snap election is held to let the raayat decide who they want to form the State Government.Who is Camry to assure us that everything is going to be okay?Perhaps, the Police can give us some reassurances that there will be no water canons or tear gas or the FRU running amok!Gathering to express their disapproval of undemocratic actions should be allowed and not be considered as akin to rioting!

Semua okay!the famous umno slogan when they rob the rahyaat blind!
