because he still believes that the Barisan Nasional's disastrous performance in the March 8 elections was caused by everything else but...
Which is strange because he had earlier admitted to being a factor in the BN's loss of votes.
"We cannot be in a state of denial," - Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, April 11, 2008, when reminding Umno members of the various factors leading to the BN's dismal performance.
And in reference to calls by several state Umno liaison committees for him to step down, he reiterated that he would only withdraw once he had resolved all the party's internal problems and had regained the people's confidence in the party.
Oh dear. With all due respect, Sir. Didn't you have a chat with them during which they expressed their frank and honest views?
Ahhh...I am reminded of what Mark Twain once said : Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.
He thot he heard them say "Stay" when in fact they said,"Sir, go away!"
ReplyDeleteSelective hearing, despite having "big ears!"
One of Umno's problem is its practice of neo-feudalism in a modern malay society saturated with unemployed graduates and disgruntled nihilistic young.

ReplyDeleteBut isn't this the state the PM is in now?
Nuraina,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it getting rather tiring looking for some kind of light from out of all the mongerings going on within the UMNO-BN circle about why their disastrous GE outing? ITs been a month and they never learn.
But then for most of us who loiter or lepak from one blog to another, people like me la, did we not see it coming? Sure, not to the extent that it did. The feeling is the same isn't it? The sense is the same isn't it? Except, maybe it was familiar to us who lepaked here. We did not maybe just realise the extent.
My advise to all those UMNO-BN type who want to understand...Just go back to the archives of all the blogs and read anything and everything. From articles to comments...maybe if they are open minded enough..they might just find the answer. The answer sure does not lie in all their various clever sounding think tanks and analysis.
If I could check Paklah’s DNA ,I could have confirm many things..
ReplyDelete.
But , even without it, I will be correct on one thing i.e. he is not a Malay.. So don’t blame him if he fails to understand Malay Bahasa Isyarat or bahasa berlapik..
It's not easy to resolve a problem

ReplyDelete.....aaah...but then....we have a chief who thought it was Daniel !..and
"Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes"
WHAT PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE IS THAT THIS FAKE UMNO MOVE IS TO APPEASE THE SOFT-HEARTED INCLUDING FROM THE LIBERAL ELITIST LEFT, THAT THE RULING POWER AND PARTY ESPECIALLY THE EVIL TWO-FACED POISONOUS SNAKES OF UMNO LEADERSHIP, ARE TURNING FOR THE BETTER! WHAT A GREAT JOKE THAT IS AND HOW WE ARE BEING DUPED, LIKE COWS BEING PULLED WITH THE RING IN OUR NOSES! ESPECIALLY NOW, THEY ARE FEARFUL OF ANWAR AND PAKATAN TAKING OVER THE GOVT RIGHT NOW; AND WITH ALL THE REPENTANT BN JUMPING SHIP (WHICH I MUST STRESSED OVER AND OVER AGAIN, IS NOT IMMORAL - SINCE THIS IS ABOUT CORRECTING INJUSTICE AND TOPPLING A BRUTAL FASCIST BN REGIME!). WE NEED PAKATAN GOVT IN RIGHT NOW; BECAUSE THE WHOLE SYSTEM OF BN/UMNO RULING IS UNREFORMABLE, FOR ALL THE EVIL DEEDS, SUFFERINGS TO THE RAKYAT AND INJUSTICE THEY HAD COMMITTED AND STILL ARE DOING, AND WAITING TO DO AT EVERY OPPORTUNISTIC TIME! JUSTICE CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER; PAKATAN NEED TO TOPPLE RIGHT NOW THIS EVIL FASCIST AND RACIST DICTATORSHIP; JUST AS THE ISA DETAINEES CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER TO BE SAVED AND SOME DESERVE A TRIAL AT LEAST! THAT'S WHAT A TRULY CIVILIZED AND DEMOCRATIC RULE MUST ADHERE TO AND SAFEGUARD COMPLETELY! AND THE NEED TO COMPLETELY OVERHAUL THE PROJECT M OF GRANTING "MALAY/BUMIPUTERA" IDENTITY TO MUSLIM FOREIGN WORKERS, REFUGEES, AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS FORM INDONESIA, BANGLADESH, PAKISTAN AND MINDANAO, ESPECIALLY IN BORNEO, IN EXCHANGE FOR VOTES FOR UMNO/BN! FURTHER, THE NEED TO OVERHAUL THE RECRUITMENT OF THE MIGRANT WORKERS SINCE IT'S BASED ON A COMPLETELY UNJUST AND EXPLOITATIVE SYSTEM, WHICH IS CAUSING SO MUCH SUFFERING NOT JUST TO THE LOCALS BUT THE FOREIGN WORKERS! AND LASTLY, THE CRITICAL ISSUE OF POLICE AND SPECIAL BRANCH'S CORRUPTION, MACHO/SEXIST/RACIST-SADISTIC ATTITUDE AND BRUTALITY,AS SET IN EXAMPLE BY THE BRUTAL MURDER AND POSSIBLE BRUTAL RAPE OF ALTANTUYA, OF WHICH SUCH FACTORS ARE THE MAJOR CAUSE TO INCREASING CRIME RATE IN MALAYSIA (STOP BLAMING THE RAKYAT/FOREIGN WORKERS WHO ARE PAID A PITTANCE, OR SIMPLY SAY NOT ENOUGH POLICE-FORCE, MUSA HASSAN!)WHICH HAS AND CONTINUE TO CAUSE SO MUCH SUFFERING TO ALL, PARTICULARLY WOMEN AND CHILDREN!
ReplyDeleteNOOR AZA OTHMAN.
enah,
ReplyDeleteThis was what I posted at Datuk A Kadir Jasin's blog some two years ago under his thread:
Lagi Percubaan Meminggirkan Dr M
Tuesday, October 31, 2006,
Dato,
I believe many Malays share the same sentiment as Melayu_Malaysia and are facing this dilemma as to which party to vote for in the next general election.
Like him, I know for sure “undi saya tidak akan pergi kepada BN lagi” or if I may be more specific to UMNO.
I hope Umno realizes that the support that it has been getting all this years has come not only from Umno members but from the Malays.
Umno couldn’t have won past elections and be the backbone of the Perikatan then and later the Barisan Nasional had it not been for the Malays who gave their whole-hearted support to the party.
And I doubt it can boast a repeat of the the 2004 GE victory purely based on the support of the present 3.8 million members in the next GE.
I think that is the reason why Pak Lah has postponed the party election until after the next GE because he is aware that he and Umno are on shaky ground.
It has been the Malays who believe in the party’s struggle party and who have faithfully helped deliver Umno its victory in past elections with the exception of the GE of 1969.
And how did that happen? Simply because the Malays were disillusioned with the then Party Perikatan of which Umno was the leading partner for having failed to help uplift the Malays in both economic and education field.
Perikatan couldnt even set up a state government in Selangor because it couldn’t get 2/3 majority.
I hope the Umno top guns are aware of what could happen if Malays felt that Umno is no longer relevant when it’s struggle now seems ONLY to protect the interests of certain individuals dan bukan lagi berjuang untuk Agama, Bangsa dan Negara.
