The Umno Supreme Council today endorsed the appointment of Ahmad Said as Terengganu Menteri Besar, ending a crisis that was further weakening the leadership of Prime Minister and Umno president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
The crisis had put the PM in conflict with Terengganu Ruler -- Sultan Mizan who is the Yang di Pertuan Agong.
Ahmad was the choice of the Sultan's while Abdullah had already appointed Idris Jusoh as MB.
After Ahmad accepted the appointment by the Sultan, he was threatened with disciplinary action for disobeying the party leadership.
Today's meeting, which lasted some four-and-a-half hours, was chaired by Prime Minister and Umno president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
According to NST Online, the council also decided that party elections be held in December. The proposal to defer party elections to next year was rejected.

ReplyDeleteThe MSM may have blacked out the news in the morning papers, but the truth is now out in the open.
Pak Lah may downplay the what happened, but we know who blinked.
DAULAT TUANKU !DAULAT TUANKU!DAULAT TUANKU!
ReplyDeletekEMENANGAN RAJA BERERTI KEMENANGAN RAKYAT .
SO PAKLAH CAN GRACEFULLY STEP DOWN.
VERY OBVIOUS HE DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT THE MALAYSIAN CONSTITUTION!
PAKLAH HAS FAILED MISERABLY
AS PM HE SHOULD EMULATE PREVIOUS PM SUCH TUNKU,TUN ABD RAZAK AND TUN HUSSEIN IN DEALING WITH MAJLIS RAJA RAJA.
AAB only blinked?
ReplyDeleteMore than that...he p*ss*d in his pants, methinks.
The handling of the MB issue was disastrous to say the least..another compelling reason why Pak Lah has to make way...the collateral damage is not just Pok Deris but the whole of UMNO Terengganu...and UMNO in general...UMNO will be seen in a diffrerent light by Malaysian after an such an open conflict with the palace...

It's not just Pak Lah who blinked, the entire party is now walking with its head bowed in shame. The President's threat of sacking proves to be an empty threat.
ReplyDeleteNow he tells the party, "Cabarlah saya" in the Dec polls.
Well, don't let anyone in Umno go against the President's wish to be challenged. Mat Taib, Nazri, Hishammuddin, Noraini - don't kiss ass, ok. Ku li has offered to challenge Pak Lah.
May the better man (and no prizes for guessing who) wins.
Perhaps common sense has prevailed

and while all these are happening, budak-budak Melayu terus merempit, jual dan hisap dadah dan membohsiakan diri. Tiada pemimpin yang peduli lagi kerana masing-masing sekarang amaaaaaaaat sibuk dengan agenda mereka yang maha besar. ~ mantea
ReplyDeleteArent those 22 idiots suppose to resign now? Can anyone highlight the article on 'Sultan wanted Bodowi to give details on where the billions were spent over the years?' Hopefully this can be made public. Forget about our newspapers- perhaps the new Selangor state govt should offer a media publishing license to Raja Petra .
ReplyDeleteThank you DYMM Agong and HRH Sultan of Terengganu for not giving way to UNMO. This is the first step by the royalties to regain some of its lost powers. Heartfelt appreciation from the rakyat.
ReplyDeleteThe problems that UMNO is currently facing did not just appear overnight...they are due to factors like mismanagement, selfishness of the leaders, the failure to stick to the original purpose of the NEP..ect..Many many years ago I used to admire the strong cooperation among the Malay community but ever since the implementation of the NEP gaps has been created which segregated them into 'rich', 'middle class' and 'poor' Malays. The NEP did not bring about a fair wealth distribution among the Malays. Some Malays with good connections had become richer but were too selfish to distribute their wealth and benefits to the less fortunate Malays. The 'gaps' now are getting too obvious and though most of the middle class and poor Malays may not be economically better they have certainly become more aware as they have advanced much more in education.UMNO was given the chance to change but they were too contended with their position. Malays were never stupid..they are just not aware. What is the point of the Govt and BNM announcing every quater that the country's economic growth is 6% or 7% when the people do not feel any growth in their income ? Who gets all the money ? These are the questions that people who are aware will ask.
ReplyDeleteWell, (i sigh first). Sultan is brilliant. He just flick his fingers calculating wang ehsan value at BILLION ringgit and divide to Terengganu people. It mean, NO POVERTY in Terengganu. Just so easy calculation. So Idris Jusoh how he calculate it? That why Sultan don't to choose him. He is bad in mathematic. Im sigh again...ah... ah.. Pak Lah? Don't know he still sleeping.....
