Farewell, My Sister...

In Loving Memory
Kak Eda was buried at the USJ Muslim cemetery last night. Before that, her body was taken to the Al-Falah Mosque near Taipan in USJ, to be bathed and prepared for burial. The Imam led the huge congregation in prayers for Allahyarhamah.
Her husband, Aziz and her children, Safiyah, Umar, Hajar and Mariam accompanied her on her final journey.
We will miss you, Kak Eda. Always.
Al-Fatihah.

Thank You
Some of you I know. Others I don't. It matters not. Thank you is all I am able to say. My father, sisters, brothers and I are deeply touched by the expression of condolences and sympathy from friends, acquaintances and strangers.
We thank you all.
May God Bless You.

    Dear Noraina

Deeply touched reading your updates and acknowledgments and also your sibling’s earlier postings.

Hidup dan mati adalah kepunyaan Allah (heard something like that over TV3 Samarinda slot last nite).

I didn’t have the chance to know your Kak Eda or any of you except of what I had read from your blog and comments from your wonderful blog-friends. But I believe she had been a wonderful person.

Semoga rohnya aman sejahtera disana dengan Rahmat Allah, accompanied by her good deeds (amal solah & kebajikan) dan doa anak2nya yang soleh. Take care of your Bapak. Wassalam.

Found out about this very late Ena. I tried getting hold of our common friend on the phone, to relay my rasa simpati and ucapan takziah to you and your family but the phone was off. Semoga roh allahyarhamah dicucuri rahmatNya dan ditempatkan di kalangan mereka yang solih dan beriman. Wasallam.

The day God called you home

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth
    and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed your tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine"
and gave you wings to fly.

When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
    You've left us precious memories,
your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children,
    you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you
on the day God called you home.

  11. Nuraina,

Allow me to grieve with your family on the passing of your great sister Kak Eda.

Kak Ton said most aptly, "Although the family love her, God loves her more. She has prepared half of her life for the next world."

She will always be your sister even on the other side of heaven.

Sorry, if I am not adequate to comfort this loss.

Al Fatihah. Moga2 rohnya disemadi bersama orang2 yang soleh.

Saya terjumpa ini. Mungkin untuk anak2 arwah.

    Ke makam Bonda

    Kami mengunjungi pusara bonda,
    Sunyi pagi disinari suria,
    Wangi berseri puspa kemboja,
    Menyambut kami mewakili bonda.

    Tegak kami di makam sepi,
    Lalang lalang tinggi berdiri,
    Dua nisan terkapar mati,
    Hanya papan dimakan bumi.

    Dalam kenangan kami melihat,
    Mesra kasih bonda menatap,
    Sedang lena dalam rahap,
    Dua tangan kaku berdakap.

    Bibir bonda bersih lesu,
    Pernah dulu mengucupi dahiku,
    Kini kurasakan kasihnya lagi,
    Meski jauh dibatasi bumi.

    Nisan batu kami tegakkan,
    Tiada lagi lalang memanjang,
    Ada doa kami pohonkan,
    Air mawar kami siramkan.

    Senyum kemboja menghantar kami,
    Meninggalkan makam sepi sendiri,
    Damailah bonda dalam pengabdian,
    Insan kerdil menghadapi Tuhan.

    Begitu bakti kami berikan,
    Tiada sama bonda melahirkan,
    Kasih bonda tiada sempadan,
    Kemuncak murni kemuliaan insan.

Thank you Ena, Thank you all of u who share our grief.
When we just got married,Bapak had said "Aziz & Eda will go a long way..because they do everything together.." . He had never been more right.
She was not only my truly devoted wife but she was my best friend, my confidant and my strength for the last more than 30 years.
For having lost my everything , I still fully 'redha' , because she had gone to meet ALLAH who loves her more.
    Amin!!!

DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.
Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell,
And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,
    And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then;
One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.

a poem by John Donne. I studied Eng Lit in Sec 3 and Sec 4, and this was one of my favourites. It's got to do with our obsession about death. Our fear of death.
we will all join arwah Kak Eda. Let's hope God let us prepare for it.

    Dear Ena,
I have just read Kahlil Gibran’s movingly beautiful ‘The Beauty of Death’. I’d like to share excerpts from it with you.

    The Calling
Let me sleep, for my soul is intoxicated with love,
    and
Let me rest, for my spirit has had its bounty of days
    and nights;
Let me rest in the eyes of Slumber, for my open
    eyes are tired.

    The Ascending
I have passed a mountain peak and my soul is soaring in the
    Firmament of complete and unbound freedom;
I am far; far away, my companions, and the clouds
    are
Hiding the hills from my eyes.

The songs of the waves and the hymns of the streams
Are scattered, and the voices of the throngs reduced
    to silence,
And I can hear naught but the voice of Eternity
In exact harmony with the spirit’s desires.
    I am cloaked in full whiteness;
I am in comfort, I am in peace.

    The Remains
Take from me all earthly raiment and place me
    deep in my
Mother Earth; and place me with care upon my
    mother’s breast.
Cover me with soft earth. and let each handful be mixed
With seeds of jasmine and lilies, and when they
Grow above me and thrive on my body’s element
    they will
Breathe the fragrance of my heart into space,

Leave me then, and depart on
    mute feet
As the silence walks in the deserted valley
Leave me to God and disperse yourselves slowly
Leave this place, for what you see here is far away in meaning
From the earthly world. Leave me.

it'll be filled with all the good things that i can evn find in a dictionary.

Though i cant quite believe that she's gone, but as cik ton once said,
"Although the family love her, God loves her more. She has prepared half of her life for the next world"

    **************************
    Although your heart is hurting,
And you feel you can't go on
    Know in that very moment
    Your loved one wasn't alone

For God was there beside them
    Holding onto their hand
    As the time drew nearer
For them to leave this land

He held them close and whispered
"My child, your time is now"
"But how will my loved ones go on?"
He whispered, "I will show them how"

"I will give them strength and love
    And comfort in the night,
I will fill their hearts with peace
Knowing you had wings as you took flight

You no longer walk amongst them
    For now you fly above
    With all my Heavenly angels
Spreading ever lasting and eternal love"

    ****************************

    Kak Eda,

    ALLAH loves you…
You have devoted your life to seek HIS benevolence, HIS blessings & HIS mercy..
And in return, HE gave you the strength & the courage to lead a life that not many of us would be willing to.

    Kak Eda,

ALLAH has shown you HIS compassion and HIS forgiveness by preparing you for this eternal journey, and when you were ready, ALLAH took you - most merciful and compassionate is ALLAH.

I will miss you Kak Eda.

You have left this life without much worldly possessions, but instead, you have brought along with you into the next life, what really matters - an “iman” that you have so carefully safe-guarded all this while, to return it back to ALLAH swt as how HE had given it to you.

    I remember, you once quoted a “Hadith Qudsi” to me;

“Kekayaan dalam kesyukuran, Kemulian dalam agama, Ilmu dalam kelaparan & Kebahagian hanya dalam syurga Allah swt”

InsyAllah, kekandaku Noraida, kamu telah menuju ke arah kejayaan yang sebenarnya…… Now it is time for you to rest & sleep in peace. AMIN.

when you were with us, day by day,
    you were around heaven's door...
when malaikat says its time, not the end, but,
the start of your journey to heaven's core...

I wept reading your piece on Tante Eda, not for her but for myself.

It is a reminder that this world is but a temporary abode for us.

What is eternal is the Herefater.

    Thanks for the reminder.

Reading by Lady Sarah at the funeral service of Princess Diana:

Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
    but for those who love,
    time is eternity.

  28. Deepest condolences Aina.

I've nothing for great admiration for the Samad siblings. You have showed great strength and fortitude. It takes great strength to have gone through all the pain -- as related in your Tuesdays with Bapak -- but admirable courage to relive it!!! I salute all of you and Pak Samad and your late mum. May all of you be blessed with good health and happiness always.

    For my beloved Kak Eda:

    C76 -(vi 1-30) Surah An'am

    God did separate Light from Darkness;
He reigns not only in heaven but also
    On earth; Mercy is His Law;
    To Him shall we return
At the end of all things. How can we
Then depart from truth and forge lies
Against Him? It is folly to say that there is
    Nothing beyond our present life.

    C234 - (lvi 1-56) Surah Waqiah

The Event Inevitable is the Day
of Judgment : the world as we know it
Will be shaken to its depths and its place
Will be taken by a world made new
Where good will be sorted out from Evil
In Dignity and Bliss will the Good find Fulfilment
Both those Nearest to the Throne of God
The title, Companions of the Right Hand
Who can tell of the Misery in which
the Companions of the Left Hand will live?
They will be as it were in a fierce blast of Fire
    Their drink but boiling water
Their shade that of Black Smoke that chokes
Their lungs :- ever burning with hunger and thirst
And never satisfied : fit emblems
Of the Life in Death to which Evil leads.

-Farewell Kak Eda. May you rest in peace until the Day of Judgment and be placed with those near to the throne of Allah SWT for eternity - Nina.
