Sime Darby Berhad chairman Musa Hitam said he was ready to resign. So is the rest of the board. But only if they are found responsibility for the losses recorded by the conglomerate.
Right now, internal investigations are ongoing. The company has not determined whether there was an element of fraud involved although industry insiders have suggested that there must have been.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, on the issue of Musa's resignation said Sime Darby should determine the cause of its RM964 million losses first before the issue of responsibility.
"We need to investigate the cause of the losses first. We can't do anything about the question of responsibility, at this point of time," he added.
Najib was speaking to reporters after the groundbreaking ceremony of Utusan Malaysia's new headquarters building in Kuala Lumpur earlier today.

Great. Defend the corrupted person that is responsible for this fiasco.

Salam Puan Nuraina,

Hello in your previous post you wrote : Asked whether the group had found a candidate to succeed Zubir, Musa said the group would need time to look for a suitable candidate.
ReplyDeleteYet a fellow blogger outsidethebox who said he was WITH you at the meeting with MUSA said that he brought along Zubir's replacement and ask him to shut up.
Potong jari saya kalau Musa Hitam sukarela mau meletak jawatan. Dia kalau jadi bos, tak mahu resign. Kalau jadi timbalan, mungkin dia maulah tunjuk terror resign (macam semasa jadi TPM dahulu). Dia dah belajar dari kesilapan dia terburu buru meletak jawatan. The whole board should resign on moral grounds, starting with Moses Black. What they are doing now is covering their asses, feigning innocence. They were sleeping on their jobs, and have no courage to defy the former PM when the latter decided to award the Bakun project to Sime Darby. Their resigning on their own accord without being forced to would have been an act of quantum leap towards Malaysian corporate responsibility.
ReplyDeleteanon@8:33PM : actually, zubir's position is now assumed for the time being by azhar (I've mentioned that he was present at the dinner).
ReplyDeletehe is not zubir's replacement.
i'm sure you know that in such cases, companies/groups would appoint someone to take over duties pending a new appointment for that said position.
i hope you're now clear about this.
thank you.
