My daughter and I are utterly devastated by this news. Although we did not know her personally, we loved her so much: her creativity, the frankness and candor of her speech/interviews, and for me, the sweetness in her eyes and smile, that I feel, mirrored her soul. May the Almighty Bless Her Soul. RIP.

My deepest condolences to her family and Malaysia has lost a talented film-maker who was really having Malaysia at heart as she was having multi-racial actors and actresses in her films.May her soul rest in peace.

    Innalillahiwainnalillahirajiuun...

Semoga roh allayarhamah di rahmati Allah Azzawajalla.

    Puan Nuraina,

Amin.

    Sahabat

  16. REMEMBERING YASMIN AHMAD

By trying to break down the racial barrier
She was often wrongly deemed to be controversial
But she was simply honest in her cinematic career
Whether it was a romantic movie or a touching commercial

    Dear Nuraina,

I miss Alahyarham Yasmin Ahmad. Since she was warded, my life came to a standstill. I did not know her personally but as always death always affects me - I sometimes wonder why... Yes, from Allah we come and to Allah we return. May she find solace now that she is Allah.

Her death has in many ways affected me - when my friend lost her mother almmost the same way Yasmin left us, it has made me see that life is so fragile. I begin to be sensitive to answering my mother,s phone calls and even when I am in meetings I will take her calls - worrying and fearing that may be the last time I will get to speak to her.

Again, Yasmin's death just amplified how fragile life is. Yes, this world is just a temporary ground for us and I hope we will live life on earth with more love and less fight. As long as God's will that we remain on Earth, we shall serve Allah and abstain from doing all the things that are prohibited.

    Buat Yasmin,
Alfatihah - semoga Rohnya dicucui Rahmat

    Atat
