She went on a two-month leave after private pictures of her were posted in the internet.
I know I should have posted this yesterday but I was away -- "somewhere in the mountains" -- doing my own thing. And there was no internet.
Anyway, I cannot say whether or not Elizabeth did the right thing by deciding to stay in office.
I'll say one thing -- she is one brave lady because even as I am writing this Elizabeth who is Bukit Lanjan state assemblywoman, is still receiving threats from "unknown persons".
"I have been stripped bare publicly, both figuratively and literally, by force and against my will. My personal life has been violated and assaulted by none other than criminals.
On those pictures of her (taken in her home), she said: "this is not a scandal, as some have suggested, but a clear criminal act."
I say she is brave because this episode will not go away and she will have to face it. She knows it.
I agree with Elizabeth that this is not a scandal but there are enough people out there who will make it -- or have already made it -- so.
Anyway, I wish Elizabeth all the best. And oh....be careful who you date....
Read HERE and HERE.
dear nuraini,
ReplyDeletesurely you can tell if she did the right thing or not!
what would you do if you were in her shoes? how you answer would surely tell you if elizabeth did right to stay on.
i do not think your post is supportive of her at all. and surely that 'advice' to be careful who she dates is uncalled for. rather snarky, if you asked me.
Only uncivilized mind like that of a toyo will continue to claim that this is a scandal. This joker has a mind of a bigot and UMNO will be losing more ground with him around.
ReplyDeleteI AM SORRY SIS, YES BRAVE SHE IS...BUT PLEASE LA KALAU DAH BUAT POSING MAUT TU PASTU DIA KATA ADA SKANDAL LA PULAK! ADUH LETIH LA MACAM NI SIS!
ReplyDeleteDEPA NI JENIS BERANI BUAT TAPI TAK BERANI MAU TANGGUNG LA, HE HE HE
KENAPA ADA DOUBLE STANDARD YA SIS? WHY IF IT IS THEIR SIDE ALL IS OK LA...SEMUA HALAL, BUT KALAU BN BUAT PEHHH MELETUP SATU MALAYA!
CERITA YANG TAK WUJUD PUN DEPA TIBAI GAK! MUAHAHAHAHAHA
HMMM..I DON'T KNOW HOW ELI GONNA FACE HER VOTERS IN BUKIT TELANJANG...EH..SILAP BUKIT LENJAN..HE HE HE
BAYANGKANLAH SIS, RAMAI YANG DAH TENGOK FULL VERSION OF HER PICTURES..ELI KATA BENDA NI SKANDAL MUNGKIN PASAL TOYOL MASUK RUMAH DIA AMBIK GAMBAR KOT!
GROW UP LA ELI AND PLEASE RESIGN, JANGAN MALUKAN KAUM WANITA!
I SAYANG SANGAT KAT SIS NURAINA, AND I AM SO SORRY LA FOR THIS COMMENT SIS...U KNOW ME LA KAN? HE HE HE

ReplyDeletebrave or muka tebal? a very thin line separates the 2.
ReplyDelete""..be careful who you date...".
ReplyDeleterigth back at you.
we all should. it could happen to anyone. anyone.
4RAKYAT.
Kak Nuraina,
ReplyDeleteI don't agree to what that moron did to Eli but likewise I don't agree to what Eli does privately too as a Christian.
However, I am being practical. She works hard and sticks to her principles. I rather let her carry on her job till PKR can find more suitable candidate to replace her.
No point baying for her blood.
We are suffering from brain drain in this country. The ones that condemns her and insist on her stepping down would perhaps tell us who is a better candidate than her at present.
I rather have a MP, Exco that does his/her work than one that sits on the job and do nothing.
To Eli, clean up your act. Celibate if you have to or just a vibrator :) It always do the trick.
kerinchiguy,
ReplyDeletei have no inkling what your views are.
no..i am no elizabeth. besides, what i think does not matter. further i am not a voter in bukit lanjan nor am i her exco colleague.
so. no.. i can't say whether what she her decision was right or not.
she is a brave lady for making that decision to remain becos the incident is not behind her yet.
i wouldnt know what i'd do if i were her.
my post is not un-supportive of her, you say? that's your opinion. it was not meant to demean her in anyway.
my "advice" is rather snarky. you must have a very devious mind.
i meant well and with sincerity because the person who did this to her was someone she had a relationship with.
kerinchiguy,
ReplyDeletei meant i am not elizabeth. (not "i am no elizabeth).
also i apologize for some typo errors.
I read many comment on this blog, and most are merapu. Go back to basic. She is the victim. The ones who should be embarrased and should be punish is the whoever the guy took the picture and realeased it to the internet to smear the reputation! Grow up lah Malaysian and show that you git first world mentality! Any sane mind will know that SHE IS THE VICTIM and NOT THE CRIMINAL!!!! I am just sick of you Malaysian who still have Zimbabwean kind of mentality!
ReplyDeletefolks,
ReplyDeletei accidentally published three (i think)comments which i view as malicious and vey uncalled for. i quickly deleted them.
you know who you guys are.
kerinchiGuy,
ReplyDeletewhat's wrong with you?
what do you want nuraina to say?
"yes yes...elizabeth did the right thing by remaining in office?"
really, it is not for nuraina to say, anywayz.
and she doesn't have to answer that question.
Bravo, nuraina.
in fact, your posting is devoid of any insinuation or sardonism.
good advice too!
obviously Elizabeth has a poor judgement of people...mainly the guys she dates. look what this SOB did to her??!!
so damn good advice, if you ask me!!
EK ELEH KERINCHI GUY, MAN! YOU JUST SOUND LIKE OF HER EX BF! ARE YOU BRO?
ReplyDeleteDONT WORRY SIS AINA, I SUPPORT YOU!
INI KERINCHI GUY IS ANOTHER MACHA WHO TRY TO GET ELI LA NI...HE HE HE
Nuraina: "Anyway, I cannot say whether or not Elizabeth did the right thing by deciding to stay in office."
ReplyDeleteNo opinion?? Come, come, Nuraina. Are you afraid of something or simply have no thinking power anymore?
If you say that there is nothing wrong with Eli Wong resuming her job, then you will kena ketuk from your UMNO/hypocrite geng. If you say she was wrong to take up the job again, you lose blog respect and following.
Susah kan Nuraina?
She is sure one brave lady,
ReplyDeleteafter this, there may be further
assault on her private lifestyle.
What she does in the privacy of her
home should be PRIVATE and of no
concern of Malaysian.We don't expect
a saint as our YB. Period.
apricot,
ReplyDeletei don't think you can think for me.
either you know me but don;t know me well enough or think you know me OR you don't know me at all.
Or you simply fire away because you have nothing better to say or you get a kick out of, er ...doing this thing that you are doing.
and apricot,
ReplyDeletenothing susah about it. :-)
folks,
ReplyDeleteit's so funny that people can impute motive in my not wanting to commit to a definitive side: right or wrong for eli to accept the offer (to stay in office).
now, who am I to say it was right or wrong. right for whom? likewise, wrong for whom?
is there a right or a wrong to or in that decision?
it was a decision that eli made because it is she who is in that position/ not me. not you.
if you know me, you'd know that i always refrain from putting friends or people i like and admire, in a bad light.
this to me, is a benefit and a real advantage in blogging. it is MY choice.
enough said.
thank you.

ReplyDeleteWhilst it is a difficult decision to make, one must face the fact that Malaysian politics is based on sensationalism, rumours and personality conflicts. Voters seem to enjoy seeing their leaders in trouble and do not seem to bother about economic development, education or stability.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth is just one drop in the ocean, considering the numerous other previous victims of this silly game. She will just have to carry on and in the meantime, other Loh Gwo Burne copycats will be racing to produce even more revealing recordings of unsuspecting 'victims'.
Surely this is not the end of the story and more juicy stuff will be in the pipeline.
But at least, the PKR guy from Kulim dares to make a differing stand, but he will be demonised for it.
So, a mask is still necessary on a date. No, make it two, to be on the safer side.
A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.
Okay lah I actually probably was too frustrated about this Eli affair being made into a mountain that I tertembak a bit angrily.
ReplyDeleteI know you have always reported in a neutral fashion, which I admire. My apologies to you Nuraina.
Semua orang perlu berani.
ReplyDeleteYou said "I agree with Elizabeth that this is not a scandal but there are enough people out there who will make it -- or have already made it -- so."
ReplyDeleteWhy do you later in the sentence more or less concede that there are people who will make it a scandal or have already made it a scandal?
Who are these people? Khir Toyo. PKR's Nordin Khalid. And who else? Now just because these people want to to stick on the label "scandal" on this episode, does it really make it? I don't think so.
I say, let them say anything they want. If we decide that this is a criminal act...then let us call it such and not even bother these imbeciles the honour of repeating their labels in our own missives.
setuju kakak,
ReplyDeleteshe really brave...now aday what ll opposition&company will said 2 her...
all the best 4 pRakyat
Ah, whats new... u malay suckerr just cant get it.. its sarah palin whodunit
ReplyDeleteHey, i'd still say ur playing too safe..u can do more lil' mama
If in the US ,she finish.....
ReplyDeleteMalaysian are more liberal than US
I think there are many out there who practise double standards. There's so many bullets aimed at her - I think because she is a woman. What about the male politicians who have been linked to sexual scandals.... I do not hear so many outcry. Hey, Toyo explain about Balkis money and how you used it like your pocket money - do change the subject and deviate attention le.....
ReplyDeleteThe days of mud-slinging and gutter politics are over. Or at least it should be over. We have the power to put an end to this. We must not allow ourselves to be a part of this filthy game. The game that is being played by parochial politicians. And to those who sit on their moral high horses and hurl accusations and unctuous invectives at Eli, I beseech you to call to mind the words of His Holiness Jesus to the clamouring masses to bayed for Mary Magdelene's blood: "Let he who is not a sinner cast the first stone."

Kak Nuraina,
ReplyDeleteIni membabitkan masalah MORAL.
Sebagai seorang pemimpin, Eli telah melanggar satu drpd Prinsip Rukun Negara.
KESOPANAN DAN KESUSILAAN
Malaysia skrg sedang dilanda gejala sosial. So, patutke Eli menjadi contoh teladan pada anak muda kita ???
Fikirlah wahai para pemimpin PKR.
OLD FART, I THINK YOU SHOLD RETIRE LA MACHA, YOU ARE ONE OVERACTING MACHA LA DUDE!
ReplyDeletePlease read here on what happened in Perak! Sila baca di sini mengenai situasi di Perak!

ReplyDeleteKak Aina,
ReplyDeleteThere are two factual errors in this posting that you are highlighting.
Firstly when Eli said , "bared ... literally ... against her will..." now that is not entirely true. She bared yes, but against her will? She knew what she was getting into when she befriended that married guy with a camera. And of course one can never predict what your partner does after ... err... bouts of passionate rock and rolling, when you exhaustively roll over to sleep.
The second is this: That you called her brave. I beg to differ. Brave is not the word. "Tak malu" is the correct one. After all this epsiode of parting her thighs and resulting in a quarter of the hemisphere able to see her ... err... inner souls, the fact that she has the audacity to come back and be a leader of the people (who should be looking upwards towards any leader for moral examples) whilst other segments of the society under her disfavour her trysts shows the kind of integrity she is lacking.
But I understand that being a woman, a journalist and somebody in the public eyes you cannot help to be sympathetic towards her. But thats rather unfortunate, is it not?
warrior 1003,
ReplyDeletethat is your view. those are not factual errors, i don't think.
on my view that she is one brave lady -- well, that's my point of view.
unfortunate? how so?
again...your point of view and my point of view.
thank you.
it's good to know that she has the guts to come back. now we will see how the others will react.
ReplyDeletethis is an extract of a report by an independent journalist which shows that the Election Commission is just PRO BN! If you support this report, please cut and paste on every group in Facebook. Thank you.
ReplyDelete"The same views have been echoed by no less than the Election Commission (EC). Plus, the EC has openly supported proposals by some BN leaders such as Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir and Tan Keng Liang to prevent "unnecessary" elections. These include suggestions for stricter laws, and penalties for elected reps or their parties should an elected representative resign for reasons other than what's stated in Article 48(1) of the Federal Constitution."
