Selangor Sultan Stays Out Of Ms Wong's Case...

NST online:

The Sultan of Selangor cannot provide guidance or advice to Selangor Menteri Besar in Elizabeth Wong's case as it is still under police investigation and involved her position in politics.

The Sultan is confident whatever decision by Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim will be made fairly and wisely while taking into account the people's interests and that of the state.

Frankly, it is baffling why Khalid decided to seek the Sultan's advice on Ms Wong's case in the first place.
What did he expect the Sultan to say?
I'm sure he knew that that was unnecessary. It is unbelievable to think that the Keadilan leaders were of the view that the case warranted the palace's interference.

I am sure they expected this response from the Sultan.
So ...why turn to the Sultan in the first place? Duh.
Surely you can deal with it, with wisdom and integrity....

Also read Rocky's Bru HERE who has got the full statement from the palace.

Of course lah since Eli is an Exco member and Exco members, except the MB, holds office at the Ruler's pleasure. Legally, Sultan can sack any Exco member but can't sack the MBlah, like what happened in Perak.

When Sultan says he is staying out of Eli's case, it just means that as far as he is concerned, Eli can stay put as an Exco member unless Khalid himself go and advise the Sultan to drop Eli.

Sultan is also smartlah. As to Bkt Lanjang seat, the best people to decide are the voters themselves. If they say, Eli stay put, then she has to respect their opinion.

  3. exco member is nominated by MB but approved/blessed by HRH Sultan. It is only polite that the Chief Executive keeps the Sultan informed and seek advise on matters related to his state minister.

Your feigned ignorance is most unbecoming. By going to the Sultan the MB essentially gets a free hand to deal with Wong even though she was involved with a Muslim which would have made her indiscretion an Islamic religious. issue. Thus, it is necessary to make the Sultan pronounce openly as the Islamic head in Selangor that he cannot/does not want to be involved in what is actually a PKR issue and not a question of Islamic morality as The Toyol and Selangor PAS has made it out to be. Please stop pretending to be stupid. You UMNO clowns are just not good at doing anything right.

Khalid (S'gor MB) turned to Sultan because Khalid is a useless wanker who can't rule the State. He's NOT capable of deciding what's good & bad for the people.

For a slutty case like Elizabeth Wong, he needs to consult the Sultan. What kind PARIAH MB/leader is this??? Does he consult the Sultan whenever he needs to go to the toilet???

Khalid is NOT fit to be MB. Having him as MB is as good as having a 5 year old kid being Selangor's MB.

There's no harm in seeking for an opinion.

Not like UMNO they will bulldozed anything as long its "menguntungkan" them.

Probably the Selangor MB wants to be in the good books of the Sultan?

And if the Sultan recommends Eli to step down? Then the whole mob will be up in the streets the next day.

Wise move from the Sultan to let the MB solve his own problems.

    A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.

Can we hear the "Daulat Tuanku" from them now please!?

Uhmm, actually I'm equally baffled why you find it baffling that Khalid should seek HRH's advice.

With the recent allegations that PR is not respectful (ludicrous, and yes, baffling! UMNO claims of 'biadap', 'treasonous' etc) of royalty, Khalid is just playing it safe.

Evidently HRH himself, by his reply also understand too well this simple logic of
"damned if you do and damned if you don't"

No convoluted reasoning required, just simple logic and commonsense, which apparently is deficient in some paranoid quarters.

    LMAO!
You said 'baffling' and Rocky said "beats me". I'm compelled to cringe on your behalfs. Please, don't so obvious lah!

Wonder why you 2 din find anything baffling or 'beats me' about the police questioning the Perak Speaker about the suspensions. Tun M's objectivity (at least specifically in this case) is something you 2 should emulate if you're going to be half respectable fans of his.

The reason why they wanted to refer it to the Sultan is:
    1.to buy some time
    2.to shut BN's mouth

Very clever if you ask me.

  14. It's called CYA - cover your ass.

Khalid, so that nothing untoward will happpen like the debacles in Trengganu, Kedah, Ipoh etc involving the State Govt and HRH's.

HRH, so that nothing will backfire on him while leaving him with all options open should he have to step in later.

Constitutional Monarchies cannot work for long unless like the Q of E, the HRH's understand their passive, neutral and non-involvement role in modern Governments i.e. 21st century!

    Conclusion:
Our interpretation depend on which media we reading or watching to know the facts.

For me,smart move by MB Khalid and wise decision by Sultan.

By looking at news header, we as readers can identify whether the blogger is pro PR or BN. I hope the truth will prevail soon.

    dear kak ina,
u sounded a bit angry when u replied to some of the comments. sabar lah. biasa lah orang-orang fanatik PR macam tu. anything u wrote which they find not to be quite to their taste, they will surely jump - call people racists, la, turncoat la, lapdog la etc etc. Just let them say what they want. your readers can judge for themselves what kind of people they are. i m a fence sitter who used to be quite leaning towards PKR because i saw all those ugly people in umno and decided to find an alternative. but now i can see that the PKR or PR people are even more ugly. hypocrate some more. ppl like vinnan and tun M fan are actually those who will expose the true self of these PR. they are not saviours, just merely opportunists. let them be. next month, when najib takes over, things will be different. i am quite confident of that. cheers.

Pakatan wanted to buy time and deflect their internal problems and try to pass the buck to Sultan.

Any sane Rakyat would expect Sultan will not make a ruling on your internal politic crisis.

What would happen if indeed Sultan advise Elizabeth to resign? Will Anwar organise 100,000 raksaksa rally?

I am very surprised until today Anwar Ibrahim has yet to allege that Najib planted Hilmi into Elizabeth Wong, the same tune he used on Saiful the other time.

  23. fencesitter,

actually, i usually just publish such comments and tak layan. people are entitled to their opinion. if they they think my writing sucks, i accept, it's their opinion. if they think i am pro-BN, that's ok, it's their opinion. altho I think they're just repeating some people's allegations.
if they are a little bit clever, they can make a fair assessment.
oh... they get personal too. still, i'm ok with that as long as they are not accusing me of some wrongdoing.

they've been getting on my case (of posting the same thing as rocky) for quite some time now. i still let go.

i used to either tak layan or be polite in my response. but sometimes, i think i am just so LAZY to be polite.

so, i say they are stupid. i call them stupid.

    thank you for visiting...

  24. I thought it was a necessary move, given the current political situation. It would have been another mess if the MB / PKR had made its own decision first, and the Sultan later said something oblique but obvious like "Leaders with moral issues should step aside"...

The Sultan's answer is proper form, and the decision goes back to where it belongs - the MB.

    ReplyDelete
  25. kittykat,

i'll have to disagree. it is not necessary to get the Sultan's views in this case.
Precisely because of the current political situation, that you don't need to involve the Sultan in the case. Elizabeth is not forced to quit because of some leadership struggle in Bukit Lanjan. Unless we are all assuming it's because of it.
Besides, she has made her decision.

But you know what...we can go on and on disagreeing. Which is good, actually.
But that's not practical. So let me say here that I respect your views. And I do see your point. I do like to get divergent views for a healthy discourse. Thank you.
    Thank you for visiting.

    Take care.
