In Memory : Nurin Jazlin Jazimin

Exactly a year ago, eight year-old Nurin Jazlin was abducted near her home in Section One, Wangsa Maju, after visiting a night market with her sister.

Twenty-eight days later, her sexually ravaged body was found in a sports bag outside a shoplot in PJS 1, Petaling Jaya.

Her killer was never found.

The beast is out there. Free to strike again.

For dear Nurin - Al-Fatihah.

(Tomorrow, Nurin's parents, Jazimin Abdul Jalil and Norazian Bistaman, they will be filing a suit at the Kuala Lumpur High court against the police and the government.

They will be seeking damages, a public apology and retraction of the newspaper article linking the family with loan sharks. They are seeking an apology and damages for lack of security which led to the circulation of Nurin's post-mortem photographs.

  1. Nuraina,

Need to keep memory of Nurin alive to prevent another bungle. Police prioritise on BN work rather than policing.

It is impossible not to be emotionally charged everytime we are reminded about this little girl’s unbelievably horrific death at the hands of monstrous adults, and one can only hope that those who put her through that heinous experience will suffer far, far more than she did. That would seem to be the only justice fitting for them.

Some people believe that people who torture and kill children must be “rehabilitated” as they were “probably abused as children themselves”. The fact remains that many of these are adults who are fully aware of the difference between right and wrong and therefore remain totally accountable for their actions. By pitying them, we are encouraging them and others like them, to believe that what they do is somehow not their fault .

Finally, incidents like this only serve to remind people that it is increasingly imperative that children be guarded and protected, always bearing in mind that there are a shocking number of child abductions occurring all over the world. These days you can’t allow kids to go alone anywhere because there are very evil people going around looking for easy victims.

Unfortunately, many governments prefer not to highlight this occurrence and the actual statistics of missing children remains a mystery. We cannot take the safety and wellbeing of our children for granted. They depend on us and we are their guardians.

  3. My question is about Justice
If Nurin was the offspring of any Datuks or TanSri would there be more urgency & resources to solve this crime?

What absolutely scares the living daylites outta me is that the sadistic pervert (s) are still out there.

The only "good" thing that's come out of this abhoring tragedy is I am more vigilant when I see kids now.

    Al-Fathihah

Let us not forget Nurin & her family

Ooops sorry... I did not see that you already have mentioned about the law suit!

But it is crazy that the killer is still happily wandering about. What is police doing I also don't know...

  12. When will ever the Police get their priorities right. They can induce a mssive traffic jam in the city by setting up roadblocks on an unreliable infomation that the opposition was planning a protest, which never occured. But when it comes to the life of the innocence like Nurin....?????

I remember the IGP, confidently said that the police was closing in on the suspects, I guess that was all for public relations.

The fact remains that the police only started investigating after 5 days nurin dissapeared. They even had the audacity to claim that family members were hiding her. I shoud know cos arwah nurin was a relative of mine.

  13. IGP where is your promise to get the guy who spread the pics of the postmortem? your priorities are very wrong my dear sir. Report by UMNO on bloggers, you guys go full steam ahead but on this all quiet. if it involves some sodomy, my god you guys leave no stone unturned. and the speed, wow faster than Usain Bolt. what about Nurin's killer? Habuk pun tak ada le.

good the dad is suing you cos you guys need to do what you say and not to point fingers with sloopy investigation and bad leads

and Pak Lah this spreading of pics of postmortem is evil.so what do you say....ask them to investigate and find the person but then you are more keen in Saiful getting fair treatment cos he is the victim. Nurin clearly is a victim Pak Lah. are you concerned about kids like her age instead of a 23 year old who can easily beat up the 61 year old if someone was to sodomise him. what a great mind our Pak lah!!

  14. They can martial 3,000 & more cops in sleepy Permatang Pauh and to provoke non-violent BERSIH or Hindraf protesters.

But not a nationwide effort to bring to book the dangerous perverted killers of our innocent children?

What exactly are the priorities in Law & Order? There was s time when children would cycle miles to get to school and back. To-day I would not dare ask my kids to cross the street to the local 'mom & pop' mini mart !!

PM, DPM, Minister for Law & IGP, please take note. The Law is not all just about RCI's and compensating retired judges to the tune of millions.

Where is the Justice For All?

  15. Even in America there were cases take 45 years to settle..

What I see now is criminals getting smarter, they know how to destroy their tracks. Thanks to CSI series.

I dont blame the police, I know police has done everything they can. I also know that this case is still open. What police wants now is new evidence, new info that can relate with this case. As a citizen, we should help the police if we know something about this case. I believe there are somebody out there who saw this maniac but choose to ignore..
