At least that's what I've been told.
I'm not going to be a naysayer and dismiss the gathering of 52 Umno supreme council members now at Holiday Inn Glenmarie although I am so tempted to.
They've called this very private two-day meeting a "retreat". You know, in the style of presidents and prime ministers of the world retreating to some quiet and serenity after a week of major conferencing. I have the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in mind.
But tell me, really, whether this Umno retreat will amount to anything. Really. What will it take for Umno and its leaders to accept the truth...the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
Enough already.
Will the frank and open discussions with the Umno president and his men about the party's leadership crisis and all issues related to it effect the desired changes?
Will it have any bearing on Umno's leadership from now until December when the party elections take place.
Umno is still struggling to understand the problem and the crisis it is in?
Have not Umno leaders been frank and honest to the party leaders before this following the BN's devastating performance in the March 8 general election?
Whatever happened to the "exit plan" proposed in Johor recently?
Has Umno not got around to accepting the fact that Umno has been reduced to what it is because of its monumental arrogance?
Umno supreme council leaders can all agree on how to handle Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad?
Ok. So the reservoir has not been drained and Umno can still go on searching for answers and fixes.
And perhaps, who knows, the supreme council members will be straight-talking and Pak Lah will not only be listenin'..
So, until then...good luck and good night!
Here's the story.
Ena,
ReplyDeleteThe GE is over...more than three months now. Apa lagi lah yang these Umno goons wanna discuss.
Kata nak ambil hati rakyat. Tapi buat keputusan yang membangkitkan kemarahan & menyusahkan mereka.
In my opinion, Umno has screwed up big time. Depa ingat depa masih "gagah perkasa". Bodohnya!
Umno sudah tak releven lagi no matter how hard it tries to rebrand or reinvent itself, unless Umno members themselves kick out the whole lot of their useless leaders, clean up and detox the party. Mungkin ada harapan.
Otherwise selamat tinggal Umno, kini dan selama-lamanya.
These Umno jokers are probably having fun at the tax-payers' expense. You can imagine the food and the extravagance laid out for these jokers. And all this amid the oil price increase. You can bet your last dollar another retreat, this time probably in London, will be arranged for another round of discussion. Umno can go on retreating, but frankly we don't give a damn.
ReplyDeletetak kan tak boleh agak apa depa nak kata?
ReplyDelete"Kita mesti rapatkan barisan.
Teruskan perjuangan. Mertabatkan bangsa.
Pulangkan keyakinan akar umbi kepada pucuk pimpinan.
Kita semua di belakang AAB."
expected la kan?
How do you expect a frank and open discussion from a group of double-talking, s-kissing, lying group of creatures?
ReplyDeleteIs it so hard to tell that someone that he is bad news, a burden, unwanted, rejected and he should just go to hell? I just did and I am being frank.
Kak Aina, please jangan sesekali sebut Good Night. I repeat, jangan sebut Good Nite la.
Dah nampak dia mnguap berkali-kali tu! Nanti dia berdengkor susah seMalaysia.
Zaib
I can imagine this: photos with all of them ceria, smiling and pretending everything is actually OK.
ReplyDeleteYour guess is as good as mine. Nothing much gonna change even with this so called "frank and open discussion". There already many "frank and open(or closed) discussions within and outside UMNO but what have change?
ReplyDeleteOur petrol price have been changed by UMNO!
I thought I would have given another chance to BN if there is a snap election. But, after what they did yesterday, so reckless and heartless, I've given-up hope on BN. Adios.
ReplyDeleteDear Kak Ena yang manis.
ReplyDeleteKomen kak Ena ini kurang manis sadikit.Kenapa marah kapada Pak Lah,He is mr nice man.Ia macam lilin membakar diri untok meyenangkan rayaat Malaysia.
Well, I suppose we have to thank God for little mercies.
ReplyDeleteThat Holiday Inn Glenmarie is not Camp David, which would have blown another couple of billion $ off our national reserves had UMNO and BN got around to planning a permanent retreat like that for the US of A President!
I am guessing they will all be huddling in a rugby-like scrum, discussing about replacing their Govt supplied Mercs with fuel-efficient Protons or MyVi's and forcing Petronas to open up more LPG stations (I think there are only 2 in KL)throughout M'sia. So that the Rakayt, whom they consider THE REAL BOSS will have their burden lessened!!
You reckon, Nuraina?
What a hoot!!
By the time of the next GE, the rallying call of the majority will be "Never Again, Never Again!!'
Assalamualikum wbt..
.. Ucapan pembukaan Presiden party.
One thing for sure that will be discussed in the Retreat..Mahathir and Family...he is such a huge thorn in the flesh and that will be one of the top agenda.
ReplyDeleteMahathir is buried in the party that he formed. He is history as far as AAB and gang is concerned.
Yes, Badawi talks, then Najib talks. Then Khairy expands on it. Everybody listens. And then like the scene in Lion King, all the animals bow before the KING!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother shiok sendiri session!!! Ketuanan Melayu, Malays need protection and UMNO is the divinely ordained protector. Malays are sheep with no head of their own and that is why they need to be led. UMNO is their only leader!! Yeh! Yeh! Yeh!
(I guess that includes me beacuse i joined in the silly fest)
ReplyDeleteLet's hope all those at the retreat
ReplyDeleteWon't think of giving themselves a treat
Although they don't readily accept defeat
They must never ignore the people's heartbeats
