Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Anwar Ibrahim didn't quite say that but I am sure he's all raring to go - to take on anyone from the Barisan Nasional in a by-election,
"I am ready," he was quoted by Bernama (on Sunday).
Anwar said he had obtained approval from the Registrar of Societies to do so.
"I've received the letter from the Registrar (of Societies). My lawyers have advised that we do not need an approval letter from the AG (Attorney-General). The letter from the Registrar of Societies is sufficient ," he was reported to have said.
Anwar returned to active politics on April 15 after the expiray of a five-year ban imposed on him by the court following his conviction for corruption.
He said he was prepared to contest if any PKR Member of Parliament was willing to make way for a by-election to be held this year.
The general election regulations state that a by-election can only be called six months after a general election is held.
In the last general election, PKR won 31 parliamentary seats.

"He said he was prepared to contest if any PKR Member of Parliament was willing to make way for a by-election to be held this year." Why is he asking that question? Before the general election, didn't his wife say that she is willing to make way for him?
ReplyDeletei am happy for dsai but sad that he has to depend on typical narrow minded moron members from the DAP for support.

anwar is just using people around him to make sure his 'dream' come true.
ReplyDeleteI asked Anwar when he was the deputy P.M. numerous times before why he once asked the Malaysian Chinese to go back to China if they were unhappy. I am asking him again and again until he replies. He cannot sue me to keep my mouth shut like he did during the election to his friends or shall I say ex-friend.
ReplyDeleteI agree with ixora. Get his wife or daughter to make way for him to contest. The 2 had made a statement to that effect. Why must others sacrifice their seat?
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, nobody should resign. Let him wait for somebody to die or he can contest in the next GE
the only person who should replace badawi is NAZRIN !!
ReplyDeletePOWER CRAZE! Thats what Anwar Ibrahim is to me. And sorry in all truth...he hasnt changed even a bit from his days in ABIM, UMNO and now PKR. This guy who craves to one day be at the top (as the PM presumably) at all costs, signaling it at every given moment of opportunities he had with the public WHILE keeping absolute tight and mum and dumb about the current economic, Malay and Malaysian issues; is a man NOT WORTH trusting our country, races and future with. PERIOD.
ReplyDeleteSo if dearest Anwar is so much eager to contest for a Parliamentary seat, then by all means, Wan Azizah or Khalid or Bourne can definitely makes way for him. No question about it since all of them have stated their willingness to do so for Anwar. Hence the question of WHEN is very much a question of WHY hasnt him do so, now. Of course Anwar Ibrahim will comes out with all sorts of excuses expecting us to happily sleep with it, because he still very much tagged majority Malaysians as stupid in reading between minds. And im not discounting the fact, they are many around us.
So please Anwar, just tell us WHEN and WHERE.
