Umno president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said disciplinary action will be taken against Umno members who sabotaged the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in 14 parliamentary constituencies and denied the BN from winning the two-third majority in the last general election.
Abdullah, who is also the Prime Minister, said based on the party's analysis, several of the seats concerned were `white' or safe areas which should have been won and thus allowing the BN to win with the two-third majority.
He said the BN would also not have lost Kedah and Perak if there had been no acts of sabotage against the coalition in the 22 state constituencies concerned.
He said if there had been no acts of sabotage which had robbed BN of victory in the 14 parliamentary constituencies, the BN would have won the general election with a more than two-third majority, he said at a press conference after attending a briefing session with the Umno president which was attended by the party's information machinery at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), here Sunday.
Asked why there were members who had sabotaged candidates from their own party, he declined comment.
Abdullah said that at the moment, there was no need for him to state the reasons why the members had acted in such a manner but he would give the information needed to the Umno Disciplinary Committee for appropriate action to be taken.

And I thought Umno was going to do some serious soul-searching and some serious analyses to find out the causes, the reasons for the Barisan Nasional's disastrous performance in the elections. I was dead wrong.
It' always so easy to find fault and point fingers. More "effective" is accusing your own members of being saboteurs during the elections.
Sabotage? Explain sabotage?
Now, if they did "sabotage" (in whatever form), why, why were they so compelled to do that?
But, aaah, never mind the real reasons.
And..now the blame game. The witch hunt.
I wonder who the Umno president's fingers are pointing at. Ok, ok. We all know who.
Nice, this finger-pointing.
Can Umno members now point their fingers at the real culprits who caused VOTERS to decide to vote out the BN in those constituencies?
And who put the Umno president up to say all this?
Kak Ena,
ReplyDeleteI had the same reaction...The lay blame game is on...Does not seem that UMNO leaders wants to grow up. Kinda remind me the song by Harry Chapin titled Why Little Boys.
Keturunan Jebat
I am sure anybody who watched TV3 at 8pm could not have missed how far the Deputy Presiden and the Sleepy Head Presiden was standing. The distance between them and the body language paints a thousand words.
ReplyDeleteOne thing for sure is that this Dollah is out of sync with the UMNO grassroots. Now he blames sabotage for losing the 2/3 majority. He should say why there was sabotage in so many sure win UMNO parliamentary constituencies therein we will know why orang UMNO voted for PAS, DAP and PKR.
The truth is too painful for this Dollah, UMNO grassroots is just fed up with his leadership and wants change pure and simple.
Dollah just go gracefully please before you create more damage to UMNO.
Wow this is good news for UMNO, MIC and MCA. The answer is found and once appopriate action is taken all are back to business as usual after the 13GE. I hope Malaysia would not miss the target of Wawasan 2020 that our wise leader make us to believe. This is the real Boleh culture of our beloved Bolehland & I am packing my bag. I told you long ago BN is not relavent, race based politics is death long ago in our next door where UMNO equvilent PKMS is long death, just wait and see.
ReplyDeleteWhile the PM points his index finger at others, his the other three fingers are pointing at himself and he doesn't even realize that.
ReplyDeleteSo he said he has heard the rakyat?
I don't think so.
Go home, wash the dishes, anything... Because whatever you do has gotta be better than this so-called English you write, LAH...
ReplyDeleteBlame Mahathir
ReplyDeleteBlame Ku Li,

Mana Soul Searching?
Can UMNO remake its future?
WHAT WAS THE REAL FEELINGS OF UMNO GRASSROOTS AT THAT TIME?
......ONLY STONEY SILENCE...
BUT...IT DID TELL SOMETHING.........TETAPI MANA ACTION GRASSROOTS???
AKAN DATANG KE????
I have exactly the same feeling when reading the news about Pak Lah blaming everybody else on BN losses. And comments by a few UMNO leaders these past few weeks are also about the same tone. It is always everybody else faults. If this is the path that UMNO is taking, I only see self-destruction at the end. A pity.
ReplyDeleteFor once, please, look yourself in the mirror. Do some soul searching. Pak Lah, it was your fault that BN lost.
Nuraina,
ReplyDeleteI am a grassroot member and I voted the oposition. Why? It is because I loathe the present crop of leaders in UMNO. I have had enough of them.
Was that an act of sabotage?
He blames everyone else but himself.

The problem with people who were in high places and still think they are perched high above everyone else. So whatever can be wrong with them? the fault must lie with others, right?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of leaders do we all have for our country anyway, who just cannot and don't even know how to even start on a review of what happened?
This is incredible that we should even continue to support them.
It is more important now then ever that this UMNO led regime be relegated to the back into opposition and removed from being custodian to the resources, security, stability and happiness of our country. And just incase there are some UMNO leaning idiots who miht read this, I don't mean a coup de tat or any violently led overthrow. I am basically advocating for at least 30 BN MPs moving across the floor to join PKR, DAP or PAS. This needs to happen to save ourselves the torment of any longer having to be led by what one calls a "Pointless Prime Minister"!
I am so angry.. no.. actually, livid! WHAT THE FLYING F*&K is wrong with that idiot we call Prime Minister!!??? WHAT!!?? He cant be that stupid, blind and deaf AND densed to see that BN lost so badly during the last election because they, (UMNO, MCA, MIC) f&*k up so badly and it has nothing to do with who sabo who. He even shamelessly went on to say that BN would have won more seats if not for these sabotagers!? HUH!?? He is mad right??!!
ReplyDeleteSuch actions only speak the urgent need to get rid of our PM! Bribe him if we have to...Whatever to get him out and it has to be done quick! I cannot imagine I am being led by such an oblivious idiot! GOD HELP US!!! Roll eyes, bang head against wall gently..
Dear Kak Ena,
ReplyDeleteTo sum up his speech - Pak Lah at his worst performance. There was little hope to reform as what he promised us weeks ago. His explanations on why BN lost 4 states was hollow! I don't agree with the blame game. Instead he should ask this question - why his fellow UMNO candidates sabotaged each other? There could be thousands of root causes and yet, not one is being look into. Could it be that it is so painfull to acknowledge?
Pity? I can't even wait to see UMNO go down hard. It's just a matter of time before the whole BN coalition becomes irrelevant with today's Malaysia. Finger pointing, blame game, sour puss, backstabbing, power grabbing, it's all in UMNO right now. The show has yet to reach climax and already it's darn entertaining.
ReplyDeleteThe state of denial continues...
ReplyDeletePak "Takapa" Lah have no other ways to deny the cause & fact that BN in particular UMNO has lost badly in the 12th GE Malaysia. He is running out of time to convince his UMNO fellowships and grassroots but blaming on sabotage, Tun Ma and Anwar. So irresponsible feedbacks and easy way out by our PM, still think that all Malaysian are still stupid.
ReplyDeleteTun Mahathir said about pak lah..."kalau reti malu, dah malu dah!" hehe hehe hehe so hilarious ley! get ready for more jabs from Tun.Tun has all the tricks in the book to make pak lah look like a grand idiot.
ReplyDeleteSadly, UMNO leaders missed the point big time. They tend to look at the symptom rather than the root cause. or dare they not?
ReplyDeleteMaybe y'all wanna read this 1 minute article on The Blame Game: http://wizdompath.wordpress.com/2008/03/28/stop-playing-the-blame-game/
Now Pak Lah said sabotage. Did he mean the ordinary citizens especially Malays traditionally supporting UMNO were also sabotageurs or the key sabotageur especially disgruntled losing candidates did not distribute the money to the intended voters. Then even you successfully eliminate these sabotageurs, you will never solve the real root cause of the problem which subsequently, the Malay votes will be further reduced or the money politic will kill UMNO eventually. Pak Lah, your justification to strengthen UMNO at this moment is too weak and less intelligent for ordinary people like me to agree with. Culture of pointing fingers instead of problem solving i.e. finding the real root cause is not good for organization like UMNO.
ReplyDeleteRakyat is calling for a change. Change of attitudes and change of action.
ReplyDeletePlease wake him up, he is sleep walking.
Nuraina,
ReplyDeleteFor the life of me, i dont know why, i did watch the whole things shown on TV3 news last night and the whole time was wondering was Pak Lah the real thing...saying all the nonsensical....and your postings echoed what i was still thinking this morning....he just looking for something or someone to put the blamed on what had been happening to UMNO since the last election.
there was once i thought Pak Lah was a nice guy....
so it got nothing to do with...
ReplyDeletethe rampant corruptions
the increase of basic necessities
the undermining of the judiciary
the sinful bailouts
the wastage of taxpayer funds
the increase in crimes
the 'keris' thing
the water canon in batu caves
the bulldozing of places of worship etc etc
but all bcos of that two old men ke?
Pak Lah blaming others but himself, why people sabatage? Because they are fed-up with incompetent and weak leadership. Pak Lah cannot even defend himself that's why he need Mike Tyson ever ready behind his back on TV3, where's Najib? By the look of it Mike Tyson is the next TPM...watch and see
ReplyDeleteI AGREE WITH EXZEDE THAT LEADERS LIKE PAH LAH ARE LOOKING AT THE SYMPTOMS OF MALAY MALAISE IN UMNO -AND NOT AT THE CURE!
ReplyDeleteMY GOD - TO BLAME UMNO INSIDERS OF SABOUTAGING THE PARTY CANDIDATES WHEN THE WHOLE COUNTRY IS ANALYSING THE SUBSTANTIVE REASONS FOR ITS SHODDY PERFORMANCE IS ARROGANCE OF HIGHEST KIND AND DENIAL OF THE LOWEST!
COMING FOM THE PARTY PRESIDENT, IT'S PATHETIC!
AND FOR THE GATHERING TO BE SO SILENT AND NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO ASK IS EERILY DEAFENING IF YOU ASK ME!
ALL YES-MEN AND YES-WOMEN WHO FEAR THEIR LEADER SO MUCH THEY ARE SPEECHLESS!
METHINKS THAT SOMETHING IS REALLY REALLY INFECTED AND ROTTEN IN UMNO! THE "PEKUNG" HAS TURNED SEPTIC AND NEEDS TO BE INJECTED WITH ANTIBIOTICS AND VITAMINS AND GROWTH HORMONES -EVEN A STEM CELL BOOSTER TO CURE THE FESTERING CANCER.
UMNO HAS TO BE REBORN, GIVEN A NEW NAME AND NURTURED TO HEALTH ONCE AGAIN BEFORE IT CAN STAND ON ITS FEET AS A CREDIBLE PARTY OF AND FOR THE MALAYS!
12 GE was not UMNO election - ie voters are not purely UMNO member. we're talking the rakyat. There are BN supporters but not UMNO members and they rejected Pak Lah. does not make sense at all. But it's true that there are UMNO members whom voted the opposition or didn't vote at all.
ReplyDeleteBlame the 'chickens' !
ReplyDeleteHe should be pointing his fingers at those who really licks him good !
Pls take note that, what the PM said was based on analysis done by the party. It was not his own. It was not a blaming game and finger pointing exercise. It was a post mortem and their analysis said that there was sabotage. ho are you to say otherwise?. I am sure that there was also SERIOUS soul searching. So , yes, you WERE DEAD WRONG!
ReplyDeleteWhy did the UMNO members sabotage the election? WEll, when one was dropped from being a candidate and therefore decided not to lend support to nominated candidate and try to sabotage eg I know of one former incumbent and his loyal associates folowing him blindly, and when members are not happy with candidates chosen, these are some reasons why just incase you are so hairan!
Wow! Sabotage? What will he think of next, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteOk la.... let's just say for the moment that there were really UMNO members who sabotaged (and to echo Pn Nuraina, pls define this) the BN candidates, AAB is going to refer them to the Disciplinary Committee eh? So, agak-agak berapa ramai yg kena tindakan disiplin nih? Sibuk la nampaknya, JK Disiplin nak dengar semua kes.
Let's see if AAB actually want to go through this... or will he flip-flop as usual?
Help us god... we have morons who did a post mortem on the wrong issue and proudly announce the finding
ReplyDeleteKak Ena,

Abdullah is the biggest Saboteur. The longer he stays the worse it will be for UMNO.
ReplyDeleteAll over the world, when the politics mature, no one party or a combination of parties can hope to win more than a third to 40 per cent of the legislature. On that score, Badawi has done well. If not for Umno Sabah, Badawi would be looking at even less seats.
ReplyDeleteIf Mahathir had still been the leader, he probably would have got less than Badawi or even worse, failed to get a majority. Perhaps, he sensed this and got out while the going was good. Now, he's claiming that Badawi destroyed Umno and the BN. In fact, every organisation contains within itself the seeds of its own destruction. Umno and BN were headed for doom the moment they were formed. It was only a matter of time. Umno was headed for destruction the moment it rejected Onn Bin Jaffar's call to open the doors of the party to non-Malays.
It's unnatural to continue to get two-thirds or more every time. Sooner or later it had to come. No more two-third. Now, it has happened.
That's why you have hung Parliaments. Governments fall like ten pins. Italy is an example.
What is Mahathir rooting for? He's in fact rooting for the discredited policy of Umnoputraism a la NEP.
If Umno listens to Mahathir, it will really become irrelevant.
Oh my! He REALLY made my day! I now rest the case: AAB IS NO LONGER RELEVANT!!!
ReplyDeleteDah agak dah apa dia nak cakap.Dia ni tak pernah mengaku kesilapan sendiri asyik cari salah orang shj.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your stand now Muhyidin? jangan main wayang lagi.

"The party’s deputy president Najib is urging members with evidence of saboteurs at work to write in so that appropriate action can be taken." This is according to Malaysiakini.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this encouraging members to point fingers at others. It is so open to abuse that it is an open licence to kill off your enemies and those you don't like.
UMNO leaders! When will they ever learn?
Aiyoh...mampus lah UMNO dan BN...Taburlan bunga di-atas pusara......
ReplyDeleteRakyat jelata...Jangan lah terlalu risau....sekarang Malaysia ada Pakatan Rakyat....
Pakatan Rakyat yang siap sedia berkhidmat demi seluruh rakyat malaysia.
Pakatan Rakyat boleh!!!Rakyat Malaysia boleh!!!
Now the UMNO members to be blamed????
ReplyDeleteGo on Pak Lah...take away this membership of mine. I don't want it anyway!
Sombong!
Angkuh!
Biadap!
still keep talking with no action taken.. so sick to hear the words came out from a liar.. so sick to turn to MSM to hear the news..
ReplyDeleteno action talk only.. wonder how to win rakyat's hearts back?
As I was entering the toilet today, I looked at the toilet bowl and it crossed my mind how much Pak Lah loves his son-in-law. I was fascinated actually. His SIL bragged about using him as a "protection" and gosh, he really made PL looks like a real fool but time and time again Pak Lah defended his SIL like his life depends on it.
ReplyDeleteI even think thak Pak Lah loves his SIL more than his daughter loves his husband.
Pak Lah, forget Tun, forget Ku Li, forget Anwar. You have to divorce your SIL first.
Watch out guys! He's AWAKE!! The man SPEAKS!!
ReplyDeleteIf he can do that much damage while sleeping...dare not imagine how much damage he can do while he's AWAKE!!!
pm abdullah is a fool on the hill. and the fool on the hill is barking at a non-existent moon. it is one thing to bury oneself in denial, it is another to look for scapegoats among one's brother bandits. can someone please put this fox out of its misery?
ReplyDeletethe former fox mahathir has been howling in the shadows about the current administration's lack of press freedom and yes-men. i suppose when two foxes howl in the still of the night neither one can hear or decipher between the lying yelps and the howling masquerade.
if ever umno is to ressurect from this istana of rascals, it needs a shepherd that has both the leadership and ability to discern between a fox and a sheep and the strength to stop the rot and carnage.
the writing is on the wall... the court jesters are in the hall and the hangman is awaiting his orders. send in the candidates and may the people have the wisdom this time to separate the bloodlust rogues from the sheep. and may those who have been stealing steal no more.
set the captives free, set the writers free, crown the judicary with the majesty, imprison the crony of cronies. let freedom reign, let judgement start at the house on the hill and may it be swift and quick. Ameen.
Now would UMNO members who voted for opposition or abstained from the recent elections be considered saboteurs? I am sure there were many.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Kubler Ross Grief cycle. In a way, this is true of UMNO...they are suffering from a terminal disease which started from Dr M's time and the rot just keeps growing....
ReplyDeleteSHOCK - What !?!! We lost 5 States ?!!
DENIAL - The Bloggers turned the people against BN !!
ANGER - Let's get the UMNO saboteurs!
BARGAINING - Not yet...perhaps we'll see in the next UMNO election
DEPRESSION - when everything finally sinks in...when, I wonder
ACCEPTANCE - Move forward. UMNO better get to this stage fast...!
I blame Mahathir, Anwar and AAB for all this. They showed that if you join politics, you can make millions for you and your cronies. I'm watching Selangor, Trengganu, Perak, Penang and Kelantan - how the new State governments fare. BN may lose my vote in the next election.....
