He is prepared to apologise to the Sultan of Terengganu Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin if he "had done anything wrong".
Idris is willing to accept any decision of the Umno leadership deemed best for the people, including forgoing the MB’s post.
According to NST Online, he made the declaration at a highly-charged Press conference this afternoon at the Saujana Golf and Country Club in Subang.
The rest of the story:
When asked whether his acceptance would include stepping down, Idris responded: “If that is in the rakyat’s interests.”
On whether he would also accept Datuk Ahmad Said, who had been appointed by the Regency Advisory Council, as the new Mentri Besar, Idris repeated: “If that is in the rakyat’s interests.”
Idris, who has the backing of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to resume as Mentri Besar, is also the key player in the confrontation between the Government and the Terengganu palace. The Sultan of Terengganu, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, is against Idris’ resumption of his MB’s post, ignoring the Abdullah’s endorsement and preferring Ahmad instead to take over.
There are reports that the 22 assemblymen who back Idris for MB are privately backing Ahmad, appointed by the Sultan of Terengganu, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, who favoured him over Idris, whom the Ruler viewed with disdain. However, Ahmad received orders to start work first even without taking his oath of office before the Sultan.
Ahmad’s presence at Wisma Darul Iman may precipitate a mass resignation of the 22 Umno assemblymen as threatened by state Umno secretary Datuk Rosol Wahid claimed all Terengganu BN assemblymen fully supported Idris and might relinquish their posts if Ahmad was adamant to be MB.
Abdullah had stated earlier today that he wants to meet Tuanku Mizan to thrash out the impasse.
But, it is not a question of "willingness", you know. If you think you have done the Sultan wrong, then you should just go and seek forgiveness. No hesitation. Just do it.
And how did it all get to this?
What a mess!
Pak Lah is only now seeking an audience with the Yang Di Pertuan Agong.
Shouldn't he have been advised to do that earlier?
Could it be 2-0 between the Istana and Pak Lah? Tuanku Mizan is a cool hand. I think he's got the arrogant UMNO guys where he wants them.

ReplyDeleteSoon we will find out why idris Jusoh is so objectionable. Truth will prevail surely. Can you imagine what might happen if the Patik merafak sembah dan menjunjuung kasih photos involving The Crystal Mosque and Monsoon Cup personalities were splashed on blogosphere before the election. The result could be disastrous for UMNO. Just like what happened to Semangat 46 when the MSM splashed the photo of smiling Ku Li donning the Kadazan head gear with big cross.

Nuraina,
ReplyDeleteLatest news is 12 of the 22 UMNO assemblymen have signed allegiance to the Sultan making Ahmad Said the chosen leader of the elected UMNO assemblyman. Should they be expelled, they will join the opposition to form the government of Trengganu. It will be a bigger loss to BN.
The thing for Pak Lah to do now is to mitigate the losses so as not to lose Trengganu. Of course it will be a hard slap on the PM's face.
Allah Selamatkan Sultan!
ReplyDeleteDaulat Tuanku-Daulat Tuanku-Daulat Tuanku!
Kick IJ and those biadap ADUNs out of Terengganu for 100 years.
Looks like the Rosol guy counted wrong. He counted on Idris to fight to the bitter end. Looks like Idris is gonna come up clean now that he's willing to ask for forgiveness - leaving those assemblymen who tried to play hardball with Tuanku in a fix.
ReplyDeleteI saw the look on that Rosol's face on TV just now. He doesn't look good at all. Bet on a wrong horse you lose a couple of bucks. In politics, you bet on a right guy at the wrong time, you're gonna pay big.
PAS learns a thing or two about Trengganu politics pretty fast.
The truth??

Wah, you responsible to damage control on behalf of Idris, the natang ah?

Dua Muka Idris, Mohon Ampun dalam Masa Sama Mempertikaikan Pelantikan Ahmad oleh Sultan

He just say it this way "I'm sorry, but i still think you're wrong"
all will be well . once all the bekeng-bekeng episodes are over, all will be well. oghang ghanu memang gitu, beghahi tunjuk bekeng. pok derih pun bukang bulih dang tu jugok-jugok mintok maaf ke sultang, kena buat appointmeng jugok. lagi kan nabi ampunkan umatnya - dok gitu ...
ReplyDeleteSudahlah Idris Jusoh. You may willing to seek Sutan's forgiveness, but is the Sultan willing to forgive you?
ReplyDeleteAfter you and your supporters' 'kebiadapan', do you honestly think [assuming that you are honest and capable of thinking] that the Sultan can easily forgive you? After calling him 'natang' [Terengganu & Kelantanese slang for 'binatang']?
Cukuplah berpura-pura...
Idris did no wrong. After all he is just the monkey. It is the organ grinders of UMNO like Pak Lah & Najib who decided how to spend the State's oil money or rather fritter it away. These are the ones who should apologise. Idris said clearly that he does not know what he did was wrong. It is clear that he is a thick skinned UMNO idiot.
ReplyDeleteSomething is not right here... Idris bugger says he is willing to seek HRH's forgiveness but yet when asked if he knows what he did that offended the HRH, he say he dont know!!! If DONT KNOW, THAN HOW TO SEEK FORGIVENESS?!
ReplyDeleteFrom the way I see it, this Idris bugger is either too dense to know what went wrong with HRH and him OR he is just too proud to think that he did no wrong to HRH. Whichever the case, it is a sure sign of a FOOL! No wonder HRH dont want him to run his state!
