Hadhari Vs Hadi

Oooh, Sir. Don't do what you tell others not to do!

KEPALA BATAS, 28 Feb 28 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today criticised PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang for issuing various fatwa which are contradictory to the teachings of Islam and called on Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders not to sing to the tune of the opposition.

The Prime Minister said that Abdul Hadi, as the leader of an Islamic party, should not tell his followers to do things which were improper.

"I'm puzzled that the president of an Islamic party could come up with such a fatwa. This is prohibited by our religion, I'm sure he understands this. Why must he do it (issue the fatwa).

"He's the leader of an Islamic party, but he leads and teaches people to do things which are improper. In the past, he had also issued all kinds of fatwa. He actually likes to issue fatwa," he told reporters after attending a gathering with educators in the Kepala Batas constituency, here.

He said this when asked to comment on the latest `fatwa' issued by Abdul Hadi in the run up to the polls, allowing all PAS candidates to indulge in character assassination and to expose all the weaknesses of their opponents.

is our PM in order too? especially with his sanctioning of the biggest bail-out totalling RM4.7 billion so that some corrupt cronies from his political party can enjoy the scandalous largess. Is that Islam Hadhari?
Badawi, look at the mirror when you wake up.

ena,

since pak lah is talking about islam, i'd like to borrow some passages from dr m's interview with singapore's today online, which i have reproduced in my blog.

Asked which achievements in the Government's recently-published "report car" he would take issue with, Dr Mahathir said:
.
"Islam Hadhari has caused a lot of confusion. There is only one Islam and now they are told that they are followers of Islam Hadhari or modern Islam as if it is a new religion."

I would believe now if someone says it IS a new religion!

warrior2,

oh you know. i think i'm just being over-sensitive. we have pak lah telling everyone not to whack their opponents. hadi tells his people that its ok to expose the weaknesses of national leaders...i think that's ok to say that. no one is beyond reproach.

though i'm not sure if hadi said its ok to indulge in "character-assassination"...he might've.

in an election, they all whack each other --thankfully, it's not a free-for-all.

now, pak lah is hitting Hadi. I think it's so ok for pak lah to criticise hadi or the tok guru.
but he has been preaching otherwise.

oh well...i'm just being, er...petty? don't mind me.

Thanks for the clarification.

It is one thing to tell a neighbour that the person that the neighbour is giving shealter (because the neighbour pity that person) is a crook BUT it is a different thing to tell a person he is an orang utan or a babi or whatever!

But I guess, principles/integrity/honesty/ and most of all the requirement of being a good moslem can be thrown aside for the sake of votes!

All Muslims in the world knows the story of Abu Lahab, because Allah disclosed and condemns him clearly in Quran.

Abu Lahab is what he is, and it is true. So, what is not right should be disclosed to all people.
