SALAM AIDIL ADHA!

Tomorrow December 20 is Eid-ul-Adha or Hari Raya Aidil Adha.
It is also known as Hari Raya Qurban.

The Qurban is a ritual performed after the completion of the Haj.
This is to remember Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his elder son, Ismail when Allah commanded him to do so as a test of his commitment to his faith. At the last moment, Allah replaced a ram in place of Ismail.

Eid-ul-Adha is different from Eid-ul-Fitr or Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Hari Raya Puasa), which falls on the first of Syawal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar.
Aidilfitri marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.
It is a day of victory for Muslims for having successfully completed the fast.

Here is wishing everyone a HAPPY AIDIL-ADHA!

PEACE, brothers and sisters!

Ena,
Selamat Hari Raya Haji.
Probably the most subdued Adha I've ever celebrated. With the floods and the general state of Malaysian affairs, perhaps that is to be expected. A friend told me at the khutbah (sermon) during Raya prayers at the Shah Alam mosque, the Imam told the congregation that the floods happened because we Malaysian Muslims have sinned. I supposed the Muslims in Johor, Pahang and Kelantan have sinned more. It would seem that they have sinned consistently, too, since they also suffered the floods last year.

And thank you for the birthday wishes!

rocky,

i know what you mean. it is really depressing.
mel told me that the floods in pahang is so bad, he is not able to go back to work in Pekan.

i am sick of people saying that the state of affairs is Tun Mahathir doing...all his fault. he started it. blahblahblah.
and i always say...if it was bad before, why are we making it worse..
seems to me those in the position of power are just having loads of fun abusing that loads of power. nothing will change, bro.
a gthe expense of he people.
