Good Luck in Your SPM!

Today, thousands of fifth-formers throughout the country begin their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). Their first paper, I believe is Bahasa Malaysia (or is it, Bahasa Melayu).

My son, Adel Hakim is one of the SPM candidates.

I wish him and his friends -- Irfan, Nazrin, Harith, Syafiq, Aqil, Dhanraj, Kevin, Melvin, Bainin, Shahirah, Li Sha, Nashua and others whose names I cannot remember -- and all SPM candidates the best of luck. Stay cool and calm!

  1. Good Luck to Adel & co.

    Have no worries, Ena.

Adel has always been a hardworking & conscientious student, who obtained 8As in his PMR. And so unassuming!

    Hey, he's one cool guy!

    Adel,

Sorry I got it wrong abt the no. of As you scored.

Makes no difference to me whether it is 8As or 7As.

But I'll give you that extra "A" for Modesty & Humility. :)

  15. Good luck, Adel! I know you'll do well.

I took my GCE O Levels in 1977, when I was in Sec 4, a year younger than Adel is now. 30 years later, I still wince at the thought of having to sit for an exam like the GCE. Yep, studying ain't my forte. Still isn't and never will be.

I didn't do too badly, though. In Singapore then (and now), you needed to get a credit for your English if you want to pass your GCE and have any hope of entering the Pre-U. My friends and I spent so much time on this subject that we neglected our Maths. I decided to drop out of the Maths paper 10 minutes before the paper was to start. When my dad found out a couple of months later (when I had to show him my GCE results slip), he hit the roof!

Adel, of course, is Einstein where Maths is concerned.

    Maam,
I read this article real late.
Alhamdulillah my son raised in Kg Sg Pencala sat his SPM Nov 2007.He secured a loan to fly into the Nile Delta.
Hopefully he'll be able to practice in one of the hospitals somewhere in Selangor in 6 years time.
By the way is your Adel attended Sri Petaling earlier? and Samad? He might have known my son Din.
