Ibu Oh Ibu!

"If I had a flower for each time I thought of My Mother, I could walk in my garden forever. "

Here is wishing all mothers (including myself) a Happy Mother's Day. Khas untuk ibu-ibu semua.

Perhaps, you'd like to read something interesting by MarinaM here, a touching entry by Eliza here, and also by Wanshana here.

  1. Dear K.Ena,

Here's wishing you a Happy Mother's Day, not just for today...but for everyday!

I bet Adel and Shaira will be in the kitchen half of the day to whip up some mean Jamie Oliver dishes for their Mommy today?

Relax, sit back and enjoy your day...

    Take care.

My mom's in heaven. Happy Mother's Day mom. Knowing Mak, she's probably praying for me now even though her son does not think of her as much as she would have thought of me if I had been the one in heaven now.

Your mom's in heaven too. Happy Mother's Day to you and to your mom, and to all moms out there, especially blogging moms.

    Dear Nuraina,

Happy Mother's Day to you and all the mothers. Insist on breakfast in bed to start the day and be pampered all day long with every one of your whims attended to.

It is your day, enjoy it.

  6. Been getting some very nice Mother's Day smses, one of which I forwarded to you. Here's one those Terengganu men might like to heed:

Muhammad said, "Verily, hear me, paradise lies at your mother's feet".

Muhammad was asked "Messenger of God, whom of our parents take precedent, our father or mother?".

Muhammad replied, " Your mother". The man asked," Then only our father?" Muhammad replied, "Then your mother."

The man asked again, "Then only our father, Messenger of God?" Muhammad replied, "Then still your mother."

Then man asked, "Then only our father?"

Muhammad replied, "Yes, three levels your mother over and above your father."

Wonder what those Terengganu men are teaching their kids?

  8. shana: thank u, luv.
adel and shaira making me a pasta dish -- their own concoction (idread to think what, heheh) -- the last time adel whipped up his own concoction was a "pasta with carrot gravy". Huh? say what? i HAD to makan it. Verdict -- a bit sweet, becos of the carrot. I sweetly told him: "manis, ek". And he replied: "Tak pakai gula pun". And I said: "the carrot, luv." And he said" "really?".
A long way, Adel, dear, a long way. But you're coming along, coming along..... what was it they said: trial and error, hands-on etc etc..

anyway, shana, ithey cook lunch for me and i take them for dessert after. boleh.

And you have a glorious day, ok. I know your kids are in Malaysia and you are in England. Just remember,
    u are so loved, Shana.
    Take care.
    Hope we meet, one day.

  14. Hi Marina,
    thanks. got yr sms.

i think men in terengganu are the same as men elsewhere. only thing is they are unashamed and shameless in making it official that they have a this terrible weakness -- the need to have more than one bed/sleeping partner.

    Two things -

Firstly - Aaaawwwhhh...It's the "sweet" thought that counts! You're a very lucky mommy - to have such a dear boy!

Secondly - I know what you mean. Moms being moms, we just take everything that comes our way ESPECIALLY from our children, and that include drawings of us which look like Luciano Pavarotti (rather than like Kate Moss!) and we'd say - "Wow! That's a VERY pretty picture of Mommy...(and while you're at it, why don't you put a knife through Mommy's heart and twist it?! Hahahaha!), and of course - their "delightful" experimental dishes. Winks*

Yes, hope we meet one day, insya Allah...

you are so right, it is the "sweet" thought that counts.
Adel cooked seafood pasta and shaira made the drinks and the pisang goreng. Pisang Goreng? with ice cream.
    I think I just O-D on lunch.

    thank u for visiting, shana.

    Dear Keanorlinsya the Young Insomniac:

Thank u for the kind wishes.

Shrek and I are still childless. We were busy the last 24 months making the "Shrek 3" movie, and we hardly had time to be alone together. No chance for enough privacy to, u know, be really romantic. Eyes everywhere. Especially those belonging to that nosy parker Eddie Murphy the Donkey.

Anyhow, I'm mom to all the forest animals, so I guess it's not really out of place to wish me Happy Mother's Day.

    Thank you again.
