Shaziman's Suggestion
You and I may have to register with the Energy, Water and Communications Ministry before we are allowed to blog.
Seriously. Yeah, looks like thousands of bloggers and would-be bloggers would have to jam the ministry's "counter" to register.
This was a suggestion by its Deputy Minister Shaziman Abu Mansor.
Statements made out of sheer and utter ignorance.
Wonder if he has heard of blogspot or wordpress.
Silly asinine statement, I know but well, we'll see if anyone will give this silly suggestion their time of day.
MarinaM sent me and several others an "urgent" email on this. I replied with a "so xxxx, so xxxx" email. You can read Marina's ranting here.
Our sister, Acciaccatura, gives her take on this in her blog, "So, What Now?" under her latest posting, "Blogkage?". Cool, Accia!
I can already imagine the headlines worldwide: "Malaysia Bans Blogging". I know, I know. But, we might as well ban blogging.
We might as well. Because we can't handle bloggers. That is something Malaysia tidak boleh.
BN getting stupider and stupider by the day.
ReplyDeleteWe have oxymoron ministers who care nothing for the rakyat but whenever they had fear and uncertainty in their political career, due to their own incompetencies and personal interests, they fear the rakyat will expose them. Therefore, they will look into every way to create procedures, rules and even create new laws whenever necessary to subdue or suppress the rakyat.
ReplyDeleteThat's the legislature we had and of which we had bred over the decades. We have ourselves to be blamed because we chose them to represent us in the law-making body.
How did the joker become a deputy minister? Very sad.
ReplyDeleteWe sailors have some pretty rude names for this type of minister and 'goblog' is really too mild.
ReplyDeletePerhaps all ministers should start their own blogs. After all, they say 'if you cant beat them, join them!'
Register with the ministry?
ReplyDeleteApart from making that stoopid suggestion, the deputy minister also shows his ignorance of how blogs work.
How is he going to prevent Joe and his dog from signing up with the numerous blog providers out there in cyberspace?
Maybe he should try blogging himself before he gets more attacks of the foot-in-mouth disease.
Malu..mana nak letak muka...
ReplyDeletecakap tanpa "knowledge" inilah akibat nya...
Satu lagi kelahiran Modal insan yang tidak berkualiti
Dear Miss NAS,
ReplyDeleteRegistering the bloggers?
Intersting ideas fr someone who has got nothing to contribute.
I thought people been reminded time and time again that the bloggers are jobless, ill informed, liars and what name you...nobody would bother us as all rakyat would listen to them now.
stupid minister! what they have against us bloggers????
ReplyDeleteAiyo... someone please tell these people to do their homework before they say anything...
ReplyDeleteNuraina
ReplyDeleteCan someone pls check if the man ties his own shoe laces?
I don't think his family should allow him our of the house. You know, he seems to be incapable of common sense, he could just hurt himself just by walking around. I bet they let him use only plastic forks and knives at meals.
Pls don't be angry with people like him. We should pity him. Imagine how it is at home for him.
...but come to think of it, we should all be pitied.
despite all the cinta IT programme, and all the campaigns we have done since MSC, i just cannot believe that members of our government remain so ignorant and clueless about what it is all about.
dude, which means you shaziman, do us a great favour. check with your cousin kj if there are more than s*it that is coming out of your rectum.
one more stupid statement like this, I am migrating.
i would be laughing if it is not so pathetic. Apalah nasib duduk malaya ni...
My dear,
ReplyDeleteClassic case of "monkeys in suits" and pathetic "lack of attention".
Okay Mr Deputy Mininster, now that you have got our attention.... Now what.... ??
assalamualikum kak ena,
ReplyDeletei wrote something on this. please give a visit when you have the time. TQ kak ena!
If i register as a blogger, does it mean i get to wear a badge or some such saying MAT BLOGGER CEMERLANG? If like that, I want, I want !! So nice to get official recoqnition like the Mat Rempits.Maybe they will call us Suara-Siber Umno Putra. SS Umno Putra ! Oops, that's too much like the Schutzstaffel (SS) of Hitler !
ReplyDeleteAyo yo....please la!! Goblok betui
ReplyDeleteNoraina, Rules are flung at us haphazardly because the key word is control. The powers that be have lost control and this being their preserve, they have to guard it in whatever way they can. So the almighty pronouncements. These, shoot from the hips and shoot-now-aim-later pea-brain politicians cannot think things out so from the ivory tower they spew out nonentities. We voted them in so that they will uphold our rights. Now, it looks like these are guarding their own rights before ours. These puerile control-freaks are AFRAID....of bloggers. Dictators make draconian laws and policies because they are afraid to lose control. Rather than engage us bloggers (maybe they have this inferiority complex that they will not measure up to us) that they fear dialogue with us. If they will not or cannot, then we just brush them aside, sweep them into the longkang, where they belong.
ReplyDeletechina blocked blogspot already... so maybe our gomen will do the same. but then again, i think it will make blogofire much brighter.
ReplyDeletehehehe,u r good gal...goblog rhymes with goblok-an indonesian word/slang that says stupid,hehe,in other words shariman/other anti-bloggers r goblok....??????
ReplyDeleteAnother day another imbecile on the loose.....
ReplyDeleteThe foot-and-mouth disease is very contagious & seems to affect ONLY the half=past six Cabinet Ministers. I mean the no-brainers.
ReplyDeleteThe gomen is scared shit of the Malaysian bloggers. It is as simple as that.
ReplyDeleteI read in the papers today that the ministry will impose the registration requirement only for bloggers hosted on malaysian sites.
ReplyDeleteThe ministry folks can legislate all the laws they want, and enforce them till they are blue in the face for all I care. If I were a blogger, why should I have my blog hosted on a malaysian site?
I'll have it hosted overseas. What good will the laws be then?
Paranoia.
ReplyDeleteMetus habenae non perspicuus et turpis. The paranoia of a government that is not transparent and is morally corrupt.
first time i read about the registration for blogger by some *loser* minister, the 1st thing to come to my mind is - does anyone remember awhile back, the then minister of information (who held the post for way too long) wanted to impose some sort of a licence similar to the tv licence for internet user?
ReplyDeletewhat a joke that was, it created such uproar among the the internet user, both malaysian and foreigner were laughing at this. luckily, somehow, eventually some thinking person decided to do away even tv licence.
i seriously think that these so called ministers don't in fact understand what's global, what 'dunia tanpa sempadan/batasan' really means. they are too busy coming up with 'projek malaysia boleh' & and creating new words such as gl0k@l!
ReplyDeleteand they think it is so brilliant to require bloggers hosted on malaysian sites to be registered.
Great post as for me. I'd like to read more about that topic. Thanks for sharing that information.
